Imagine if they just subsidized newspapers and magazines the way they’re subsidizing this slop
"All of this falls apart if humans don't adopt the tech. This is why you've seen Meta cram its lame chatbots into WhatsApp and Instagram. This is why Notepad and Paint now have useless Copilot buttons on Windows. This is why Google Gemini wants to "help you" read and reply to your emails."
Analysis: OpenAI is a loss-making machine, how can it survive?
Don't call it a bubble! Loss-making monster OpenAI is on the hook for $1.4 trillion (with a T) in compute commitments. How can this go on?

This is among the funniest things I have read all year and I laughed out loud several times. Highly, highly recommended. It reminded me of the best days of Deadspin.

Super interesting research and recommendations about a technology I suspect many workplaces have blithely adopted without thinking through all the implications. Personally I dislike mtgs with AI transcriptions, for lots of the reasons here.

There is no difference in practice between removing rights of individuals and leaving the ECHR. The end outcome is still the same, people lose rights. If human rights are an obstacle to your policy it is not the rights which are the issue, it is your policy. Labour going full Reform at this stage.

IMO the worst thing about this government is its failure to see Trump, Farage, anti-immigration rhetoric, rising racism, and the 'gender critical' lobby as connected elements of a global war against liberalism and social democracy – and instead treating them as discrete issues to be 'managed'.

Still thinking about Zohran’s full-throated defense of immigration and how long i’ve waited for it. No bullshit about border security or “legal” immigrants but just unabashed support for immigrants. How many people feel so much more seen today? I know I do. 1/

This is the first speech that isn’t for white people. He reflected the actual population of NYC and didn’t cater to a consultant‘s vision of who is worthy. Yet, he clearly spoke about “kitchen table,” issues. It’s just that he included other people’s kitchens, too.
