Why can’t we have nice things like reliable buses and safe cycling lanes? Because a coal company who built an unmanned petrol station - after this Bus Connects route was planned - says it has a “constitutional right to make a living”, apparently.
I've spent the day in The High Court listening to Lissan Coal Company v An Bord Pleanála. This is a judicial review of ABP's decision to approve the BusConnects Blanchardstown to City Centre scheme.

Rejection is built-in to a writing career. I once sent 99 poems to 99 poetry journals and received 99 rejections over the course of six months. Made me laugh. Did it again. Kept doing it, stories, novels, etc. After awhile, it won't faze you. (This is different than clearly unfair situations.) 1/2

Ai has not made creative *skills* more accessible, it’s made *churning out stuff* more accessible.

And the accessibility issue was never in the creating, it was in the getting paid. That’s not changing because Ai is designed to funnel money into the pockets of already rich guys.

So many beauty brands still use animals for testing too. All the glossy cute packaging and a testing process that’s so gruesome that most people couldn’t watch it happening.
Please look for brands that don’t do animal testing 🐰🐁
A vibrant scientific community would share this video everywhere. It would engage deeply with its devastating implications and meaningfully discuss alternatives to animal testing.

But instead we scientists are a bunch of cowards, afraid to rock the boat, indoctrinated to rationalize the status quo.

The @ec.europa.eu will table today the deprotection of #wolves

Another step away from science, and another case of embracing toxic culture wars in a way that just keeps feeding the beast.

Reminder: wolf hunting does nothing to reduce damage to farmers, but it does real ecological damage
