it makes me sad when people order lattes no foam, that’s the fun part. also I’m willing to bet most of them just have never had a well made latte

I’m thinking about muting every word related to current politics. I get my news in one dose each day and that’s all I need. the constant drip feed of disaster is all downside. On here I just wanna talk about games and art and spirituality and stuff

I was at the white stripes’ penultimate show and they played seven nation army for 90 seconds before abruptly stopping and jack white saying “we shouldn’t play this in America anymore, something gets lost in translation.” that 90 seconds turned out to be the last time they ever performed the song
the funniest thing that’s ever happened did not happen to me, so i can only imagine how funny it must have been first hand, in real time. it happened to my physics teacher Mr. Turner, who told me a couple years back at a school band competition 6 of the 7 entries played Seven Nation Army

I think I’m enjoying Outer Worlds 2 despite some misgivings because it has the basic structure of Mass Effect. The old Bioware style of RPG is like catnip to me

it's not that i ever doubted that being a barista was a skilled position, but my year-long effort to try to produce a half-decent latte at home has convinced me that a good barista is easily more skilled than virtually every c-suite executive on the planet

my friends are roasting me for using guides sometimes for Silksong but there are just some activities in games that I don’t have time for, like scouring a giant map for secrets I’m not ashamed

once again a reminder that daylight savings is fundamentally evil and stupid. if the government told you it was five degrees colder than it actually is, would you wear a jacket in the summer heat? no? why do you do it with time then?

I get what this post is trying to say, but this framing really sucks.
AAA video games should cost $100 on launch. this would still be extremely cheap for the amount of time and enjoyment you get out of them! But an audience of whiny babies has kept them literally at the same price for *two decades* despite both general inflation *and* sector-specific costs rising

I’d be more concerned about this if I believed that anyone is going to buy these
People are opening up Meta AI Ray Ban glasses and modding out the LED recording light, then selling them on eBay. There is huge interest in disabling this functionality, which means basically you cannot trust anyone wearing these (i'm sure you already weren't)

A $60 Mod to Meta’s Ray-Bans Disables Its Privacy-Protecting Recording Light
Meta’s Ray-Ban glasses usually include an LED that lights up when the user is recording other people. One hobbyist is charging a small fee to disable that light, and has a growing list of customers ar...

the only thing that matters is that it feels right and sounds good, I cannot relate to this perspective at all
weird reading gripe: I'm noticing an uptick in similes and metaphors that don't quite work. it'll be like "bitter as seawater" or "in constant motion, like a cockroach." like, I get the vibe the author is going for but on a mechanical level it doesn't make any sense.

HEY! On Thursday (10/16) I am giving a talk at Auburn about how we depict and talk about worlds in tabletop and miniature games. It's about granularity and how fiddly we get about the worlds we make. It's at 4pm and it's free and the info can be found at this link cla.auburn.edu/cah/events/?...

“TRON: Ares” is spectacularly designed, swiftly paced, thoughtfully written, and directed within an inch of its neon-hued life.

I’m pretty happy with the weekday life rhythm I’ve found in middle age:

Work
Hang out with my kid
Enjoy some pot
Play video games

I’ve got it all figured out I think.

I’m finding the difficulty in Silksong frustrating in a way I did not experience in HK or FromSoft games. I think it may simply be a pacing problem? There is very little breathing room in Silksong. I miss having space to simply explore and soak in the vibes, especially when the vibes are this good.
