Right now we’re just doing oil piracy

GLASHEEN: Antifa is our primary concern right now. That's the most immediate violent threat we're facing

BENNIE THOMPSON: Where is antifa headquartered?

GLASHEEN: ... ... ... we are building out the infrastructure right now

THOMPSON: What does that mean?

My grand unified theory of suburbia is that camera doorbells are like SUVs, they provide an illusion of security while making you more paranoid
“Camera doorbells are social cancer as a technology, breaking down social solidarity and further encouraging people to see strangers with suspicion.”
Christmas is coming, and the Black Friday sales signal we’re in peak gift-buying season.

When you’re picking out gifts for friends and family this year, there’s a whole slew of tech products that are better to avoid. I put together a guide to help you through it.

TEN MONTHS IN:

The national debt is higher.

The trade deficit is wider.

The inflation rate has worsened.

The unemployment rate is up.

They really do believe it. But until it happens, we can't see the job numbers.
JD Vance: "As much progress as we've made, it's gonna take a little bit of time for every American to feel that economic boom which we really do believe is coming. We believe that we're on the frontend of it, but we also recognize we've got a lot of work to do to undo the damage that Joe Biden did"

Most of the country understands that they're inflicting pain on us in order to inflict more pain on us.
Steve Scalise: "The Transportation Secretary yesterday said 10% of flights are gonna have to be cut back because we don't have enough air traffic controllers because Democrats chose not to pay them." (As Trump points out, Republicans control everything and could end the shutdown on their own.)

Johnson won't talk about the Republican health care plan—not because it's secret, but because it doesn't exist.
Mike Johnson talks about the Republican "healthcare plan" like it's highly classified information: "We're not gonna be on a conference call explaining all our plans and strategies for healthcare reform, because they're leaked in real time."

Our family quit Spotify last week. Old habits die hard, but I promise it's not as hard to let go as you might think.
Spotify is now running ICE recruitment ads. We asked them to stop. They ignored us. Let's show them what we showed Disney. No Kings, No Collaborators, No Capitulators. indivisible.org/cancel-spotify

This story needs to be told. Not only are the critical minerals in batteries up to 96% recyclable, EV batteries are being given a second life as solar energy storage. A circular economy for batteries that *massively* reduces extraction is a very real possibility.
Forget the myths: EV batteries are now more than 99% recyclable
Those people who want you to believe mining for EV batteries is as dirty as drilling for oil? They don't want you to know about recycling.

NO KINGS
Q: What did you mean when you said you're prepared to send 'more than the National Guard' into American cities?

TRUMP: if I want to enact a certain act, I'd be allowed to do whatever I want. The courts wouldn't get involved. Nobody would. I could send Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines -anybody I want

People ask a lot about whether protests matter. While Trump’s approval rating is driven by many factors, events like the No Kings rallies likely play a role, too. Media coverage and people seeing their neighbors take a stand help convey that disapproval is not just acceptable but widespread.
Donald Trump's approval rating in our tracker has fallen to -18, the lowest it has ever been (lower than any point in his first term) www.economist.com/interactive/...

historically the pardon power has in fact been used for a bunch of corrupt shit, which is why I am not a big fan

the difference is timing and scale - presidents would save this shit for the last week before they left office

now? sure, yeah, billion dollar bribes for pardons on a random Thursday
Q: On the pardon of Changpeng Zhao, Binance has significant business interests with World Liberty Financial, the president family's crypto company. How do you respond to criticisms that this is a corrupt act?

LEAVITT: I would respond and say the president is exercising his constitutional authority
