Discomfort is not harm, and if you're made uncomfortable by the work of a total stranger who does not know you exist, you can just process on your own and move on. You do not need to make it anyone's "fault" and no one needs to be "held accountable" for it.

If you dislike something or it makes you uncomfortable, that’s okay! But you don’t need to let the creator know. You don’t need to let anyone know, honestly. You can just ignore it and move on with your life. Fandom is about enjoying the things you like, not bashing the things you hate.

RTing this for the editor talk-- I understand how getting a lot of edits means more work and that can be frustrating, but I've always felt bad when writers think a lot of edits means their piece is bad. I feel bummed out when my pieces *don't* have a lot of edits!
I also know it's hard to separate what you write from _your self_ but you don't have to weave your self-esteem inextricably into a review of, like, a cartoon ghost game. The review and your self-esteem will both get better if you do. Getting properly edited is in fact an act of care from the editor
