Folks from a local elementary school in my area are trying to raise $1300 to cover the December rent of a family that's struggling due to an ICE abduction. You can donate through this local church's Zelle. Pls note that your donation is for the "Kilmer family" (Kilmer is the name of the school):

Yesterday was powerful gathering against Apple exploitation and complicity in genocides in Congo & Palestine

I was arrested & facing bogus charges

Vancouver increased its police budget by 40% (!) over past three yrs. Effects are felt daily by targeted communities plus ⬆️ criminalization of dissent
My friend @harshawalia.bsky.social was arrested and charged, and another protester was brutalized today in Vancouver at a protest targeting Apple for profiting from death and exploitation in its supply chain. The protesters also called out Apple's support of Friends of the IDF.

There is no evidence linking COVID-19 vaccines to deaths in children. There is evidence that COVID causes serious harm — including long COVID, MIS-C, cardiac complications & diabetes.

This administration’s actions are dangerous, and the damage to the public and children may be irreversible

I didn’t want to overreact, and took time to read this. Having done so, I’m adding Northwestern to the list of places I won’t visit or speak. The concessions re: international students and gender-affirming care are not merely symbolic.
Here’s the text of the Northwestern settlement with the DoJ, which includes a $75 million financial component / payoff (cc @profmarkovic.bsky.social):

Which is why I think an altruistic response to fascism—“I fight on behalf of those targeted”—is well-intentioned but mistaken. Fascism’s ultimate target is all that is human. The response is solidarity, a recognition that whether targeted today or a figurative tomorrow all struggle for their lives.

And one more other thing I’m seeing now, that Northwestern unsurprisingly didn’t mention in its statement, effectively banning gender affirming care at NU school of medicine

just a reminder that the current best explanation for why this was necessarily or desirable is that the President wanted to see some video of it
It is unfathomable that the USG lawyers would sign off on a no-survivors boat strike (no get of jail free card).

There's clear precedent dating back to World War II trial of Germans for that very act, which lawyers know well.
