JOURNALISM 101 RULE: If someone says it’s raining, and another person says it’s dry, it’s not your job to quote them both. Your job is to look out of the fucking window and find out which is true. — Now more than ever.

WHO 10 dec 2024: “We cannot talk about COVID in the past tense. It’s still with us, it still causes acute disease and “long COVID”, and it still kills.

The world might want to forget about COVID-19, but we cannot afford to.”

A beautiful P. aeruginosa isolated by the lab!

Pyorubin is produced by certain strains of P. aeruginosa. While pyorubin is less extensively studied than other pigments like pyocyanin, it is part of the phenazine compound family. These pigments contribute to the characteristic colouration.

Crash Course was an indispensable learning resource when I was doing my undergrad in 2011.

Delivering complex information with ease and making it engaging for learners is truly an art. To this day, I still recommend it to the trainees in our lab.
About 13 years ago, we started a company called Complexly so we could make SciShow and Crash Course.

That team has grown into a company of 80+ people, who have worked incredibly hard to create 9,000+ videos that are each researched, fact-checked, and available for free.
