Midwesterner. Skeptical, particularly of "economic anxiety." Trying to stay open-minded but generally, they are who we thought they were. Michigan fan.
Very disrespectful to Beck.

Alright, as one of my bugaboos is "all the economic data looks pretty good! We're on our way" and I'd like to see non-aggregated evidence that this is the case (e.g., big company is hiring 5,000 people) and see how things are going in non-AI, crypto, super-rich space, I'll track here.
"Too late" would be right on time.

One of (many) issues Dems need to toughen the hell up on is their reflexive farmer stroking.

These welfare queens of the plains want white men in charge and their resulting problem to be solved by taxpayer money. It needs to stop.

That Gibbs pass, run, and cut back, and then cut back again made me chortle out loud so hard & wake up the family --- it was like the spirit of Dan Dierdorf inhabited my body #lions #nfl

I have heard nothing but good things about Ken Burns' latest, but I really wasn't up for a deep dive into American History during times like these, but then I read this Deadline review

Comparing this series in a complimentary way to Van Halen's Fair Warning? #kenburns

Thank goodness the #lions are actually wearing their silver pants.

It’s Honolulu blue and silver. Two colors! No more pajama monochromatic nonsense.

These NFL coaches are brain dead.

Two different chances to go up, late in the 4th, by kicking a simple FG and instead they go for it on 4th and goal get nada.

I know both of these teams aren't making the playoffs. Still, play to win the game, not just 'F' it, I'm going for it."

Shout out to my kid's school for gently saying to overachieving parents, re parent/teacher conferences:

"Please know school staff is always able to communicate via e-mail/phone. This may be an option to consider if your child is experiencing academic success and you do not have any concerns."

Filed under the category, "Why didn't I know about this?"

There is a Mutiny on the Bounty from the 80s with Anthony Hopkins, Laurence Olivier, Daniel Day-Lewis, Mel Gibson, Liam Neeson, Bernard Hill, and Edward Fox?

I'm surprised the ship didn't sink from all the acting awards in the cargo hold.

Finally, the world's least fan-friendly arena rock band is starting to open its archive.

Of course, they're starting with "a signed limited edition book boxed set" that likely will cost over $500 a copy, but I guess you have to start somewhere.

OK, some lawn service is mowing a lawn today! It snowed this week! The lawn doesn't need trimming, Mr. Homeowner.

Just stealing money.
One of the biggest scams around are weekly lawn care companies -- those folks work hard, but no way lawns need weekly mowing in Sept, let alone Oct, in Michigan. Especially when we are in a mini-drought.

They're just taking money from people too lazy / well-off to care. Which, fine. But still.

In honor of one of my 10 favorite bands of all-time, #soundgarden, making the RRHOF, here is a great song cover by one of the few hardcore punk bands I like, Better Lovers.

In true punk style, they fuck up at first, but then rock the hell out of it.

There would not have been enough space on the opinion pages of newspapers or segments on cable news to cover the amount of outrage that the media would have directed at Joe Biden if he did not know the standard duration of a home mortgage, but Trump? Crickets.
