Midwesterner. Skeptical, particularly of "economic anxiety." Trying to stay open-minded but generally, they are who we thought they were. Michigan fan.
Very disrespectful to Beck.
Grim.

Just so people can appreciate how long the NY Times (and world media in general) are committed to this bit, another actual headline--from Oct 19.

If there have been "a wave attacks" and more, now leading to air bombing, for over a week...there's not any "cease" in your "fire" (you would think).
October 28, 2025 at 5:42 PM
Pretty close!

We have reached "tenuous" on the NYT "cease-fire is still holding" scale (even though the fire is not ceasing)

I give myself a B+

You honestly don't get it? Here's Gemini to help you out.

The people of Bluesky need to realize SK govt has responded tepidly to this, mostly performatively gesturing towards SK public anger.

The workers may not want to go, but SK govt & companies still want to go where the money is. They don't care about workers appreciably more than Trump & Miller.

"Who me? Need a lawyer"?

There is a post on the old site where an old school con laments the fact his wife w Stage 4 now can't readily get the COVID vax b/c of the new rules.

This guy knew RFK Jr was dangerous. He know Trump was crazy.

Yet cultural issues win the day. They'll vote for that over their own wife's health.

The media just can't or won't adjust to a President & political party that a) lies all the time and b) is authoritarian.

This AP story was loud wrong for 12 hours.
- "Trump fires" No he didn't!
- "b/c of allegations of mtg fraud" No! We know that's not the actual reason. He's lying!

Welp, Russell now has other problems: he’s apparently 85 years old and owns a steak restaurant in Chicago.

Even the WSJ (news side) is not up to the task.

If after a bad jobs number (a big story in itself) the US President responds, Politburo style, by canning the person in charge of providing the numbers, that should be an ***EMERGENCY*** across the fold situation.

That's not what they're doing.

Another great example.

He used Michigan's platform to help Kaepernick -- he put himself out there to help a guy who a lot of football fans & GMs had left behind years ago. Wasn't just words with Jim.

I don't think I've seen such poor approval score for a piece of entertainment since "Cats" with James Corden came out a few years ago.

So w the LA Times & WaPo going into the "liberty" pocket of their billionaire owners, and the NY Times being the Times, I've seen the Philly Inquirer occasionally touted as where people on left should subscribe.

I'm unimpressed. You have to scroll *way* down to see Senate bill. Provincial stuff!

Those folks overseas just don't have as much panache as our friends in Toledo, OH.

I saw your comment on Ted Nugent's conspiracy-fueled post on AOC's (alleged) net worth, and I'd just like to share one thing that is 100% true: Ted is done as a live act.

Even the Motor City no longer turns out for the Madman.

Bad snaps happen so often that Alabama manages to lose twice to a non-conference foe in the same calendar year.

They truly are the impressive ones.

Good chart.

I am an economist like Oren Cass is, so I made a detailed analysis of the impact of when NAFTA was signed in 1994.

Pretty illuminating.

Good chart, but WTH is that question mark under "Recession" for the last bear market?

There wasn't a recession in 2022. One was never declared, and even the folks who latched on to "it had to have been, there were two quarters of shrinking GDP" don't have a leg, as in the end, there was just one.
