FWIW, here's a 1970 version of that apocryphal Thomas Jefferson prayer that Mike Johnson read in the House of Representatives today. It appeared in The Cross and the Flag, the magazine of Gerald LK Smith, a white supremacist & Christian Nationalist who was America's most notorious antisemite.

Enough footsie-playing. Dems should loudly say GOP senators who support the dangerous, wildly unqualified RFK for HHS sec will own the awful consequences of his tenure for the rest of their political lives.

On the pod, we suggest ways to do this. Listen:

Every single one of these articles is the same: Blame Democrats for capitulating to "progressive advocates," blithely note that no one in power has actually done that, then tell Democrats to do exactly what they're already doing.

Elon Musk's net worth has surpassed $450 billion, largely because he was the single biggest funder of the Trump campaign.

Musk could end world hunger for 10 years, and still have billions left over.

In 2021 Musk said he'd give $6 billion to end world hunger. He never did so.

I spend a GREAT DEAL of time watching Oversight hearings.

AOC does not come off as a firebrand there. She comes off as someone who manages the committee, including Comer, well.

I like Connolly. But I don't seem him exercising that kind of stature on the committee.
No doubt generational changes in leadership are important & necessary at appropriate time.

But this choice isn't only abt generational change, it is abt ideological. AOC is too far left, which contributed to 2024 Democrat loss. That requires reflection, not reward.

We need politics to moderate.
