People need to stop saying that these cuts are needed to pay for the tax cuts. They don't gaf about paying for them or the national debt. Trump didn't "pay" for the last tax cut and added $8T to the national debt without breaking a sweat. They WANT to cut SS, Medicare etc. It's the plan.

Trump wants to go back to the golden age of the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory is a more accurate characaterization - again based on his own repeated statements - than whatever wishcasting others are doing.
There's something weird happening where The Discourse about the tariffs is about how Trump is trying to return us to 1950's and 1960's, the manufacturing heyday of America, but he's not! He' been very very explicit about this. He wants to return us to the 1890's. That's a different project!

All I keep thinking about is how Pete Hegseth raised questions of the competency of a Black four-star general and Air Force fighter pilot who was the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Hegseth asked did he get the job “because of his skin color? Or his skill? We’ll never know, but always doubt.”
