The same politicians pushing age verification laws and social media bans are the ones who don't like what young people are saying online. They can't win the argument, so they want to control the platform. @taylorlorenz.bsky.social @kenklippenstein.bsky.social

This was my absolute favorite part of this banger of a speech.
Mamdani: I have been told that this is the occasion to reset expectations, that I should use this opportunity to encourage the people of New York to ask for little and expect even less. I will do no such thing. The only expectation I seek to reset is that of small expectations.

“Your mailbox date ≠ official postmark date”

What to do:
1️⃣ Mail early.
2️⃣ Ask for a manual postmark at drop-off.

Before you start throwing jabs at this, remember:

--There's not a ton Dems in Congress can do as the minority
--This will renew the spotlight on J6, elections, etc. which will help alert the public as well as encourage people to be more pro-active
House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries has announced in a 'Dear Colleague' letter that House Dems will hold a 'special hearing' on January 6 to "examine ongoing threats to free and fair elections … and detail the threats to public safety posed by the hundreds of violent felons who were pardoned."

NEW: The USPS finalized a postmark rule that could increase late mail-in ballots for rural voters. Even in states with grace periods, mail voters submitting ballots even a day or two before Election Day could now risk their votes not being counted.

If it implicated 3rd party voters, the free Palestine movement or any common democratic scapegoat they would have it plastered everywhere! Democratic pride led to their fall and like Trump they’re hiding the proof of their incompetence

A "mistake" implies that they aren't happy with the way things turned out. It's a big club and we ain't in it. Dems will happily lose to Republicans; their job is to thwart progressives.

BREAKING: After ordering a report on what went wrong in the 2024 election, DNC Chair Ken Martin is now refusing to release the report, claiming doing so would be counterproductive.

This lack of transparency kills trust, disenfranchises voters, and shows weakness. Just ridiculous. Indefensible.

The factional grifters will hate this, but the Mamdani-Spanberger-Sherrill axis actually suggests the outlines of a broad, emerging Dem coalition organized around both anti-Trump *and* affordability politics, not a party bitterly divided against itself.
These big wins will embolden Dems to take on Trump's lawbreaking and show there's a price for GOP enabling of him. Folks hate to hear this, but normal patterns are asserting themselves: Liberalism isn't dead, Rs are likely to lose in 2026, and Trump is really unpopular, not a magical exception.

Bannon: we have a plan and Trump will be president in 2028.

A normal country would see this and freak out.
