This is what we mean when we say "crime is a social construct".
As soon as I realized that immigration offenses are considered civil (rather than criminal) offenses I had to majorly reevaluate how I felt about shit like this. Like if the entire family was out there running speed traps going “laws are laws” at people doing 57 MPH in a 55 MPH zone
