This is an incredibly important & hopeful piece of research which proves that debilitating Long COVID symptoms are molecular.

More evidence (see: bsky.app/profile/shak...) that continued dismissal of the dangers of Long COVID is a dangerous scandal.

Just watched Nimona because my body decided this was a horizontal day -- I love this film! The queerness and the beautiful art and the humor!

Assassin's Apprentice by Robin Hobb: I thought I would breeze through the first book for the world building and gloss over a probably basic coming of age story. 30% in, I have teared up twice and I care so much about this lonely boy and his little animal friends. I love being wrong.

I was starting to feel guilty about how I've maxed out my holds on two library cards but then I saw this reminder 😈
Hey, as a librarian I need to tell you:

Our funding depends on usage.

So go ahead and check out that book even if you don't think you'll finish it. No one will know. Check out that DVD even though you might not like it. Get ambitious in your quest for knowledge.

No book has made me feel the way that The Tombs of Atuan did eight months ago and I've just been chasing that high ever since...

My first thought was "omg Susanna Clarke also writes sci-fi?" I'm guessing these are dead white men, and my "classics" reading list is already occupied with Mary Shelley, Ursula K. Le Guin, and Octavia E. Butler. Bummer.

Blood Over Bright Haven was so tragically disappointing that I had to re-download this app to rant somewhere public.

Outrage is growing over Israel’s killing of 15 Palestinian medics and rescue workers north of the Gazan city of Rafah. Israel tried to claim the convoy had suspiciously approached troops without flashing lights, but footage shows the ambulances had their lights on when Israeli troops opened fire.

how did ICE know where to find Mahmoud Khalil, and who will they go after next? I wrote about the vast surveillance network that powers ICE arrests, and the Zionist groups making deportation wishlists for the agency:

The disappeared Columbia student is the start of a surveillance nightmare
Mahmoud Khalil is a legal permanent resident. That didn’t stop ICE.

the fact that people are being disappeared in the name of ""preventing antisemitism"" by a christian nationalist administration is making me nauseated and horrified in ways i cant even begin to explain

Y'all this is REALLY BAD. They disappeared a Palestinian activist green card holder who is married to a US citizen. He could literally be ANYWHERE 🌍 right now! ICE claims they cancelled his green card, something no judge has ruled on yet. Columbia colluded w/ ICE to make this happen.
UPDATE—Mahmoud's attorney says they do NOT know where he is.
They were first told he was sent to an ICE facility in Elizabeth, NJ. But when his 8-month-pregnant wife tried to visit him, she was told he's not there.
They've received reports he may be sent as far away as Louisiana.

Reminder: we are being trained not to care about other people. It underlines the attacks on migrants, on DEI, on trans youth, on so-called "wokeness."

Sure there are legitimate critiques but this is not about critiques. It's about supercharging capitalism's culture of uncare.
