Tonight, hours after the Paul Weiss news broke, an associate at Skadden Arps sent a firm-wide email:

"Please consider this email my two week notice, revocable if the firm comes up with a satisfactory response to the current moment...We do not have time. It is now or it is never..."

The fight for D.C. isn’t lost yet, but it isn’t over either: If the House doesn’t pass this bill quickly, our budget will still be decimated.

If you’re lucky enough to have congressional representation, consider calling your House member and asking them to expeditiously approve it.
The unconscionable Republican CR cut $1 billion in funding for D.C. – funds that have literally already been paid for by D.C. residents.

So we introduced a bill tonight to ensure that D.C. receives the tax dollars it is owed. The Senate just passed it.

American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.

That is correct.
Like the spoiled children of the rich who squander their unappreciated legacies, a vast swath of Americans are taking for granted the hard-earned freedoms and rule of law that made us a rich and powerful nation. If we are not careful we will lose our inheritance forever.

National monuments may be on the chopping block. Despite bipartisan support to protect them, Interior Secretary Burgum ordered agencies to produce plans to carry out Trump’s “energy first” agenda. Buried in the order are instructions to review all national monuments. Here’s what you need to know:

This is Marco Rubio explaining how the USA promised to defend Ukraine forever if they got rid of their nuclear arsenal left after the Soviet Union fell.

This is why lil marco was sinking into the couch. He was hoping we wouldn’t find it…so don’t RT right now this very second.

The idea that a political party must do more dramatic things in response to defeat is not new to the social media age. New bio of John Lewis describes his approach to Newt Gingrich et al taking the House in 1994.

Lewis applied Civil Rights era lessons and a willingness to burst norms to hurt Newt.

This does *not* mean no flu shots in the US next year - not by itself, anyway.

The WHO picked and published their recommended strains as always. This year. It’s an A/H1N1, an A/H3N2, and a B/Austria (+ a B/Phuket for quadrivalent shots*).

US manufacturers *can* still use the WHO guidelines.
