Or, as McKibben has said elsewhere, it's impossible to think of going to war over solar.
International law won't constrain Trump's thirst for oil. But every solar panel that goes up makes crude reserves that much less valuable

Just possibly it's the oil?

Residents of a white working-class neighborhood in Amsterdam North attack police with fireworks on NY’s Eve. The city had barred them from lighting a public bonfire because of the danger to neighboring houses.

The night each year Dutch people lost eyeballs and fingers - now a steeple
Steeple of the Vondelkerk in Amsterdam has collapsed. Surrounding houses being evacuated. What a fittingly awful end to the Dutch tradition of New Year’s fireworks www.at5.nl/artikelen/23...

I think what's more likely to happen is that Vance and co. will either (a) let Trump be impeached (if Dems take Senate too), or (b) remove him via the 25th, making Vance president and defusing Democrats while urging "goodwill" on all sides
So if over 2026 it looks increasingly certain that Democrats take control of the House or Senate than watch out for language from Trump, Vance, Miller et al claiming that mid-terms will be "fixed" and Congress "illegitimate".

That's a path to armed ICE or CBP goons storming Congress.

What an awful year for Kennedys. A good one died; a center desecrated. And the worst of them taking over the Kennedy "legacy" or mantle.

Looks like another monstrous 6-3 SCOTUS decision in store for us
BREAKING

The Trump administration says it has frozen all childcare payments to Minnesota in the aftermath of allegations of fraud by some in the Somali community.

Important: allegations along these lines have existed for years, which has resulted in prosecutions starting with the Biden DOJ.

Broadly unpopular, but every high schooler & college student is using it.

Corruption so pungent, it wafts right off the page:

Lobbyists who do pardon deals “say their going rate is $1 million. Pardon-seekers have offered some lobbyists close to the president success fees of as much as $6 million if they can close the deal.”
