Surveys would def. be interesting. One thing I've come to believe, in 27 years in this city (when I didn't pay attention for the first 10 because I didn't have kids), it's that if you were a child in private schools the whole time or most of it, it's like you didn't grow up in Cambridge at all.

I know what you mean. But I'm grateful for the diverse classrooms & what it does for kids growing up in this country: children of profs and tech executives in the same room with kids of Ethiopian immigrants who live in Rindge towers, girls in hijabs, Black American families from the Port & more

Yes, those are the four years we left. And I'm in the middle schools now at least once each week as a sub.

There's often a flight back, after middle school, for CRLS. We were one of them.
