The amount of adult language I just used as I finally put the tree up and started fluffing out the branches is definitely not Santa approved.

seasonal reminder that if someone says they don't drink:
-it's none of your business why
-hosts should have several non-alcoholic beverage options
-the holidays can be a tough period for non-drinkers
-many jokes about not drinking are bad
-people are burned out and might just be tired

And sometimes your godmother surprises you with a box full of everything bagels and chocolate rugelach from Zabar's and you cry just a little bit in joy.

I feel like I shouldn't have to tell people who are grown ass adults in the USA, raised in the USA, that you absolutely do not wait until they day BEFORE Thanksgiving to order your turkey.

ALAS.

I do not need the $100 off brand Lego version of the Owens house from Practical Magic but I can still yearn for it.

(Also just the knowledge that even if I did buy it Tessie would destroy it in less than 5 minutes saves my wallet.)

Protip for people once again talking about Southern politics without actually knowing the history of the South: Dixiecrat is NOT a complimentary term.

Very amused that a Sam Wilson post I made like months after winter soldier came out is making the rounds again on the ballpit site. Fandom never truly dies it just hibernates for a little bit.

I'm such a sympathetic crier because all these skaters at Skate America are getting to me as they cry at the end of their programs.

We all are really collectively going through it.

It's nearly 2026 do we really need to remind folks to mute their speakers on calls/meetings?

I am on my way home to Toronto and the aurorae are absolutely phenomenal.

If you are anywhere in the northern half of the continent, get outside and look up! Or better still, put your camera on a 10 second exposure and point it up.

...it was in the 70s yesterday and today we had a snow flurry. We've barely had the heat on this past month and the gas bill went up $100.

It's going to be an interesting winter.

I'm not sure how the rest of this very busy work day is going to go, but I've only been up for 20 minutes and have already stepped in cat shit, spilled about a 1/4 of a water pitcher over my work uniform when the top came off, and walked into a spiderweb. It feels like a warning to stay home.
