[ARTICLE] BTS, chaos over full-group comeback on March 20… “Run BTS” climbs back up the charts
BTS has topped global charts even in the new year. Ahead of their comeback on March 20, they are once again proving their powerful influence in the global music market. As of 6 a.m. on the 2nd, "Run BTS," a track from the anthology album Proof released in June 2022, ranked No. 1 on the iTunes "Top Songs" chart in a total of 61 countries/regions including Brazil, Finland, Mexico, and Greece. ARMYs around the world voluntarily began streaming "Run BTS" to welcome 2026, and this effort led to the song topping global charts. The message of the song played a big role in fans' focused streaming. The song contains a promise to continue running forward without change while encouraging one another. It's a track where you can feel BTS's signature spirit and teamwork, and one that most clearly shows the identity of the group. Behind this chart resurgence is ARMY's desire to run together with the seven members, who are releasing a new album on Major overseas media have also shown great interest in BTS's comeback. The New York Times recently stated in an article examining the K-pop industry that "BTS's rise and dominance have greatly influenced the popularity of K-pop over the past decade. With their musical talent, diligence, and relatability, they have perfectly fulfilled their role as global ambassadors of K-pop." It went on to express expectations that "the group's new album and tour will once again serve as a decisive catalyst to reinvigorate the industry as a whole." BTS's comeback carries meaning beyond simply releasing new music. Their full-group activities are expected to present a new direction for the global music market. With global charts already buzzing from the start of the new year, attention is now focused on the new records they may set with their upcoming release. Meanwhile, BTS recently revealed their comeback date through handwritten letters sent to ARMY. BTS Confirmed to Make a Comeback on March 20 [Official]

BTS (RM,Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, Jungkook) will make their comeback on March 20. This Wil be the first full-group album release in about 3 years and 9 months since the anthology album Proof, which was released in June 2022. The comeback date was first revealed through handwritten letters the members recently sent to ARMY (their fandom). To welcome the New Year, the members wrote letters by hand and had them delivered to fans' homes. Along with expressing gratitude to the fans who have remained by their side without change, they also wrote the date "2026.03.20" on the letters as a hint about the comeback. The members shared their heartfelt messages: . RM: "I've waited for this more desperately than anyone." ○ Jin: "Thank you so much for waiting for us." ○ Suga: "Let's enjoy this year together too. I love you." ○ J-Hope: "Finally, what we've been imagining is becoming reality!" ○ Jimin: "The year we meet again has arrived." • V: "In 2026, we'll make even more and even better memories together, so please look forward to it!" ○ Jungkook: "I miss you! Please take good care of us this year as well." This letter was a gift for ARMYs who have maintained their Weverse membership over the past three years and shared memories with BTS. Members who were unable to receive the physical letter will be able to view the same messages on Weverse at the end of January. This was prepared so that fans both in Korea and overseas who waited together could all share in the hearts of the seven members. On the last day of 2025, BTS welcomed the New Year together with fans through a live broadcast on Weverse as a full group. They reflected on the past year and also shared their hopes for the new one, saying, "We hope our comeback goes well and the album does great. Let's make BTS a big success." Meanwhile, following the release of their new album on March 20, BTS will embark on a large-scale world tour. Further details about the new album and concerts will be announced later through official channels.
