I apparently completely missed the discourse du jour. Huh. I must've made a different narrative choice earlier in Act 2 so I bypassed it.
discourse of the day is dialogue choices

I got addicted to nicotine last year via vaping (I have now quit) and it is craaaaaazy how much nicotine vaping puts into your system. I ran the math and soon after starting I was getting the equivalent of two packs of cigarettes a day.
genuine advice from a bitch who has helped like a Bunch of people reduce or fully quit nicotine

swapping from cigs to vapes full on almost never works for reducing your nicotine intake in my experience. every time ive seen it attempted the intake either stays static or increases actually
humbly proposing that vape pens are quietly one of the most evil inventions in the past 25 years and that everyone involved should be tried at the hague

agreeing to make a terrible deal while your main opponent is quite literally being boo'd on live tv by an entire stadium of people is the kind of political instinct you'd normally only find in a 3 week old dead goldfish

i think an especially depressing part of this whole saga is that "we need to win primaries so establishment dems are replaced by true progressives" is a thing we've done before but one of the progressives we worked hard to install over the establishment pick was fetterman

*A movie made before 1978 contains a scene set at night*

Wow, this just looks great! It's like at some point filmmakers forgot how to light night scenes so they actually look like night? THIS is what it should look like!

*In the movie made before 1978, lightning flashes*

Wow that looked like shit

The ACA made my whole self-employed life possible. For almost ten years, I was able to build a career that actually worked for me AND keep receiving necessary care to address the consequences of childhood medical neglect. And I still deserved better. We all do.

ha! I was just listening to an old interview with Douglas Adams about Hitchhiker's and he says explicitly his style is directly influenced by Winnie the Pooh. I've been saying this for years, ever since i read to my kids as an adult and thought, wait a minute, I've seen this before

this is literally some sports manga shit (there's a different soccer league in the northern region and they play in the snow and this gives them special ice tactics that make them difficult to face)

one thing i do remember is that the republican party, before it went MAGA, was too weak to keep MAGA from taking it over. remember trump steamrolling all of those guys and now he tells them what to do and the worst elements of his base are in charge. democrats seem that weak now too. no control

American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.
