I want to tell you why the case of Kilmar Abrego Garcia should matter to you.

The one power you cannot give the executive is the ability to imprison or expel anyone regardless of their legal rights. That is our key check against autocracy. And we are watching it disappear.

Always the case. One of my friends paid taxes around 10y, before her case was concluded. I was always revolted by it: they pay taxes but have no rights. And the likes of donald can't pay because they are not "stupid." You call an entire country stupid in a debate, then half proceeds to vote for you.
Undocumented immigrants paid an effective federal income tax rate of 5.27% in 2022.

That means they paid a higher effective tax rate than 5 of the richest Americans…and a higher effective tax rate than 55 mega corporations.

So let me ask you: who are the real freeloaders?

Of course they fear women, they are smart and courageous. They can smell bs from a mile away and are such hard workers. We need to take care of this way before another November rolls around. We are strong, we got this.
Are you a woman who changed your name when you got married?

Congress is considering a bill that could make it much harder for you to vote.

The Senate’s approach to extending the 2017 Trump tax law’s provisions and creating additional tax cuts would lower after-tax income on average and raise federal debt. The latest from @bbkogan.bsky.social:

BREAKING: The House of Representatives just passed the SAVE Act, a bill that would make it much harder for millions of people to register to vote.

We're calling on the Senate to reject this legislation.

Here’s the real reason why DOGE is gutting the IRS.

(Hint: it has nothing to do with “efficiency.”)

We drove this! Our collective power is remarkable. On to more palpable corrective actions that target this bunch of billionaires who believe they own us. Peaceful protesting and mindful (not)spending works.

We are arresting students and throwing them in detention cells. Because they speak against injustice. We are now doing what russia has been doing for over a century, and what every totalitarian regime does. I know, I grew up in one. A judge ordered to stop this action, but they ignored him. Fascism

UPDATE: Hours after filing our amended petition, a federal judge ordered Rümeysa Öztürk can't be removed from the U.S. until further court order. The government must respond to the amended petition by Tuesday at 5pm.

This is a critical next step. We won’t stop until Rümeysa is free.

BREAKING: We and @aclum.bsky.social are joining Tufts student Rümeysa Öztürk’s legal team after plain-clothes ICE agents unlawfully detained her because of an op-ed she wrote.

This is an appalling violation of the First Amendment.

This is why our SS, Medicare, and USPS are crumbling. So they can enrich themselves. EMusk is paying his failing company from our hard earned money, he's not paying federal taxes. Neither does trump, cause he's "not stupid". We are the stupid ones paying taxes for education, roads, hospitals, envir.
Since January, SpaceX has received over $560 million in government contracts—an amount projected to surpass $2 billion in taxpayer funding by year’s end, averaging roughly $6.1 million per day. Follow the money and see where it goes.

We do have the dumbest officials ever. Unless it is intentional, in which case they need to be prosecuted. Given none of them in the Signal conversation as much as coughed about their mode of communication, there is no doubt they have been doing this. How can they all expose US like this?!

I'm no lawyer, but it seems like discussing war plans in Signal outside a SCIF is maybe just a little bit worse than using a private server to send emails that weren't even marked as classified. But what do I know.

Make America great again. Something has to give; and soon.
Markets falling, investors fleeing the US, retaliatory tariffs hit Trump counties, allies abandon US weapons, environmental rollbacks spark outrage, and Putin stalls peace. This weekend's bulletin is free for all—don't miss it:

Today, we have more income and wealth inequality than ever before.

But the greed of the oligarchs never stops.

Now, in order to get huge tax breaks, they want to cut back on Social Security, Medicaid and veterans programs.

Together we can stop them. We must stop them.

Watch the magas cry how they are not receiving the best care they deserve. And it will be so pervasive. But no worries, they will be protected in a blanket of propaganda and blame Biden. Of course, it's hunter's computer. I am only angry(I can understand how they got trapped), but deplorable was it.

This is the worst news. Voice of America and Free Europe Radio were my daily news, growing up in communist Romania. The official radio and TV broadcadted propaganda, and this was our only connection with the outside world. Listened 4h every day, from 2nd grade, to 19y, when the iron curtain fell.

How many times did the GOP shut down the government? Including in the last 53 day? McConnell changed our history with his opposition to any and all legislation, from President Obama on. And now you are voting yes out of fear?! Were are your principles? Do you agree with the funding bill? Why yes?
March 14, 2025 at 9:32 PM
@klobuchar.senate.gov Please vote No on the CR! Don't legitimize their dismantling of our government. They already froze appropriated funds, and disregard Congress. You need concessions to vote yes. Remember McConnell? His No votes, including on bipartisan legislation? Do not vote with the GOP!

Thank you, senator! One more yes to my list. I did support a principled senator. Please continue to vote with integrity, in our interest, not out of fear! We got this.
Here’s why I’ll be voting NO on the partisan funding bill.

Thank you, Jon! I am checking on all the senators that I supported their campaigns in the past. So far, no disappointments. Please continue to vote out of principle, not fear!
Sen. Ossoff tonight announced he will oppose cloture and, if it comes to it, final passage on the partisan House budget proposal and issued the following statement —

Thank you! Do not vote with the GOP! Remember McConnell? And those were bills that protected Americans, many bipartisan. They want your vote, they need to make concessions; not sponsor a nazi and a cognitively impared dear leader, dismantle our government, and hit hard our vulnerable populations.
I am voting no on the CR. Trump and Musk are taking a wrecking ball to vital services for veterans, seniors and kids. I will not support a bill that helps them do it. I will support a clean 30 day CR.
