When the federal immigration raids ramped up in L.A. and protesters took to the streets in June, Chan decided to make a statement the only way he knew how: By printing thousands of protest signs and distributing them for free.

Why am I so against generative AI in games?

Because I simply do not want my initial reaction to art to be one of suspicion and scrutiny, AI slop is fundamentally damaging my relationship to art and artistry, and I am deeply resentful that it is forcing me to be guarded when I should be wowed.

the richest people in the world talk about the disruptive tech for people like it's an opinion. it is extreme tech and they are force-feeding it to us while telling us to shut up. we can never be extreme enough about it
"Surely there's a middle ground here?" The CEO of Helldivers 2 studio Arrowhead says people "jump to extreme takes" when debating generative AI, and that there needs to be more nuance in the discussion.

rainy day in LA is the perfect time for hot food and citybuilders

Frostpunk: good, if a littler overwhelming for beginners

Frostpunk 2: a good flip of the previous concept (and much more beginner friendly)

i’ve been sitting in silence since then.

half of it is war. war is legitimized taking. war is how you colonize without undermining the authority of property and ownership. the model it all comes from is dictating the guidelines of who can take and who can be taken from. when you don't see yourself up there, that is explicitly the point

half of it is slavery. the model it all comes from is white men know how to run things, and all mistakes come from the servant class being unable to realize the vision. it's colonialism, it's chattel slavery, it's deskilled labor, it's the auteur. property as exclusion, power as the right to exclude
Once you start thinking of AI as a war on humanity, on human thought, on human inquiry, on human labor, on nuance and critical thinking, it slots in pretty seamlessly with the right wing ideological project, oligarchical political projects, big tech's political projects, etc

What we live in now is a demented cult exalting the right of a tiny handful of people to immiserate the rest of humanity for no real reason. It will end. It will end so totally that one day it will be nothing but a footnote in history books.

One of these days, Capitalism will sustain its last wound. It will topple and die, and we will see it bleed out in the street, neither mourned nor missed. Every cut and needle's prick brings us closer to that day.

to doom is to die. the right feeds on this. live defiantly in their faces. stand on your beliefs. carry your struggle without shame and people will see themselves. stay true to your beliefs and show people a better world

this mf said "the opposite race" referring to Black people

these are the true degenerates in our society and we have to remove and block every single one of them from any levers of power. a doomed mono-culture of no meaning and nothing to offer
