Husband, father, Kentish man. Port Vale and Northern Ireland football fan. Delorean driver (when it works. Which is, errm, sometimes).
Bloody hell, cricket eh? There is a true joy in listening to the BBC's commentary while you're on a train.

To knit together two stories: through intimidation, litigation & extortion, Trump is clearly trying to create a media ecosystem where nobody asks him about Epstein - or indeed anything discomfiting. It is appalling to see so many UK media individuals & institutions aiding & abetting his corruption.

Today I went to a university open day with my son. We went to the student union and I beat him comprehensively at pool twice. Clearly my own time at university was not wasted.

Exactly this.
Look, I absolutely detest Charlie Kirk and his appalling opinions, but I extend to him and his family all the courtesy that he has denied others and hope he recovers.

Shooting people in cold blood is bad. Always. Evil and bad. And none of us want to live in a world where that's celebrated.

Bhattacharya and Makary are being incredibly irresponsible, but I guess being a right wing MAGA/MAHA guy requires you to peddle conspiracy nonsense 😢
Both Bhattacharya and Makary helped promote a movie at the end of last year that says SARS2, Ebola, HIV, and Lyme are all lab leaks, that Moderna engineered SARS2, that vaccines cause “turbo cancer”, and more… very right today’s weird politics was put ahead of science long ago.

Grateful as a viewer for the Women‘s Euro.
In an era of cynical promotion, a competition that needed no added hype or claims to be anything except what it was.
A tournament to determine European football champions, held in a country that made it easy for fans to attend.
Leaner often better.

Exactly this. I cannot understand how Western countries can continue to support the Israeli government in any way
Israeli tactics:

1. Stop aid entering Gaza
2. Deny famine is taking place
3. When famine becomes undeniable, stall as long as possible
4. When western pressure mounts, do the minimum possible
5. When western attention moves on, return to step 1.

Sam is spot on. I work in London and get to see its beauty, vibrancy and soul every day. It is truly the greatest city in the world. And Paris is not far behind.
Was with 100k+ people in Hyde Park last night having a lovely evening as the sun set. Walked to Green Park to get home and passed dozens of great bars + restaurants.

These tedious misanthropes need to go outside.
If Zoe had added Munich, everybody would now talk about Pop Music....

Now that Elon doesn't like Trump I'm assuming he'll turn up on here soon. Does anyone know if he has an account yet?

This morning. LA residents cleaning up their streets of spent gas canisters, cartridges and the other military garbage left behind by ICE.

Horrors. What a violent mob!

Watching this Musk-Trump feud unfold

This is an excellent idea. I find it bizarre that new homes are required to have fake chimney pots that are purely cosmetic yet don't have solar panels.

In crazy 2025 I can't even tell if the highly publicised Musk/Trump falling out on social media is just Elon trying to get people to go back to twitter.

Just had a quick look at twitter. First time I've been on since October. First thing I saw was a good person having to debunk yet another anti- medicine claim. I logged off quickly. What a bloody place.

Today is my ten year anniversary of being blocked by George Galloway on Twitter. I mocked him for losing in the 2015 election and as we all know he's the most thin skinned cranks around.

The commentary on the Trump cabinet meeting suggests it is reminiscent of something in North Korea whereby all the ministers take it in turns to praise the dear leader.

Given Trump's love of tariffs I'm surprised he is so against Amazon referring to them in their pricing structure.

Can we all at least acknowledge the wonderful fact that Port Vale have been promoted? Yes I know the world is in a bad way but come on, this is a massive positive.

I'm not a religious man (I call myself an atheist protestant Christian) but am saddened to learn of the death of the Pope. From what I read about him he seemed like a thoroughly decent man. I hope the Catholic church choose another similar person.

Agreed. It is hard to argue that this is anything but attempted market manipulation. I wonder if trump's investment businesses had any advance knowledge of the tariff pause.
The President of the United States of America posted this 15 minutes before the announcement of the tariff pause. This would be a straightforwardly criminal message, were the rule of law currently operational in the usual way, for those with insider knowledge of major market shifting policy news
