NEW | Public Services Performance 2025

The government has high ambitions for public services. But with patchy progress, it needs to get a grip to make a success of its reforms.

Labour are now the "darker forces" Mahmood is scaremongering about. Depriving people who have fled unimaginable horror the ability to rebuild their lives in safety and security, which this does, is sickening. Labour is sickening.

There will be a perfect storm. Recruitment across sectors vital to the wellbeing of the population will collapse; talented people will continue to leave the UK even shorter of their skills; the extreme right will continue to attract almost half of all voters with a message about evil refugees.
Net migration to the UK is falling rapidly. But how far will it fall? A new, detailed estimate by @jamesbowes01.bsky.social projects net migration in 2026 will be 70K to 170K.

This will have significant consequences, both economic and political.

As a former anti-corruption specialist, let me be clear. Crypto should be nowhere near UK politics.

The risks around anonymity, tracing ownership & manipulation of instruments are all good reason to act.
New: Farage confirms my scoop for @theobserveruk.bsky.social from two weeks ago, that Reform has started to receive crypto donations

He told Reuters that Reform UK had already received "a couple" of donations in the form of crypto assets, without giving further details

The way people are talking about it you’d think it was some dystopia from the Hunger Games or something
