An interesting experience at the Fort Shopping Park in Birmingham this morning. These 'improvements' have been going on for a while, but my access to some of the retail outlets felt like a cross between a maze and an assault course. It's not exactly shopper friendly.

Just reading tomorrow's word of the day from "A word for every day of the year" by Steven Poole, and Tsundoko has really struck a chord with me...piling up books that you've bought that remain unread.

I was always fond of its old Charlotte Square site, but the new home of the Edinburgh Book Festival is quite impressive.
