One of the defining features of British politics is how cheap politicians can be bought for, and yet the idea that someone might see that and buy two of them is entirely lost on people
many people seem to understand how the mega-rich can subvert democracy by purchasing a political party's loyalty, but pull up short of understanding that they can just do that to the whole system. as if their wealth only gets one vote & has to pick a side

The U.S. establishment is so one sided in its support of Israeli apartheid that when Israeli soliders intentionally shot journalist Shireen Abu Akleh in the head, killing her, most politicians still didn't unequivocally condemn the murder. She was a U.S. citizen.
