The disturbing reports on the Trump administration’s changes to what constitutes “hate incidents” are dangerous — and similar to what they are doing at our National Parks. It is shameful, and every American should denounce it.

Having unions in a community benefits all workers. The Fight for $15 had an undeniable impact on workers' wages in this country. No boss will respect our rights unless we fight for them.

There was an ICE watch and rapid responder appreciation event in Rogers Park today, and I wasn't able to attend, but I did send over 20 signed copies of Let This Radicalize You as gifts for my fellow volunteers. There's a virtual appreciation event happening soon, and I will def be present for that.

Today’s strike isn’t just about Starbucks. It’s about a broken system where billionaires & CEOs keep getting richer while the politicians they bankroll gut our wages, healthcare & rights.

Baristas are fighting for a fair contract and for a more just society. #NoContractNoCoffee

A new proposal from a subcommittee created by the state’s Office of Court Administration would significantly strengthen that internal rule, requiring judges who hand down sentences or make detention decisions to conduct meaningful prison visits annually.

Won’t somebody please think of the hurt feelings of the armed agents of state violence preying on vulnerable members of our communities and all others who don’t want to live in an authoritarian hellscape? They also have feelings, and those feelings must be honored.
From the outside it might look like ICE officers wear masks to avoid accountability, but in reality they are a way to avoid accountability.

Australia's humpback whales are doing so well that their population is expected to reach carrying capacity and plateau in the near future--they have not just reached but exceeded pre-whaling numbers. For this to happen with such a long-lived, slow-reproducing species is near miraculous. #goodnews
These whales were hunted to 150 individuals. Now there are 50,000 of them
Once hunted almost to extinction, the population of humpback whales currently migrating down Australia's east coast has bounced back and is now greater than before whaling.
