try to imagine the media firestorm if the military was conducting strikes and obama, clinton, or biden said "i dont know anything about it" and how the media just shrugs at trump saying the same thing.
talking to reporters last night, Trump claimed of Hegseth's double tap strike that "I don't know anything about it," then moments later claimed "I don't who you're talking about" when asked his plan to pardon the former Honduran president

His enemies presume he’s anti-capitalist because he calls himself a democratic socialist but it seems to me that he wants capitalism to work for people, not against them, which is the case right now for too many people.

Trump needs you to simultaneously believe that it's nuts to think the president of a country could actually be a drug trafficker, and that we are going to war with another country because its president is actually a drug trafficker.
Reporter: You have made so clear how you want to keep drugs out of the US—

Trump: Right

Reporter: Can you explain why you would pardon a notorious drug trafficker?

Trump: If somebody sells drugs in that country, that doesn’t mean you arrest the president

He’s saying this because he believes impeachment would hurt the Democrats’ chances of success next year but I think he’s wrong. It would help. Americans want law and order and the Democrats should promise to provide.

Admiral Bradley—WHO TO BE CLEAR WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR EVERY DECISION THAT WAS MADE—has my total and complete moral support. I will be keeping him in my prayers, and I will be rooting for him.
If Admiral Bradley didn’t realize before that these cowards were setting him up to take the fall, he knows it now. Time to hire a good lawyer.

Usually it’s a safe bet that nothing will stick but if the regime hangs Admiral Bradley, a SEAL combat veteran and winner of a Bronze Star, out to dry to protect their alcoholic Fox personality cosplaying as “Secretary of War,” I could see that being a bridge too far for a lot of Republicans.
For some reason Democratic leaders seem to prefer telling voters what they won’t be able to do, rather than what they’d like to do.

If Hegseth ordered a war crime and lied about it, shouldn’t Ds try for impeachment? Put Rs on the spot. They might get a few defections.

This administration is filled with the absolute dumbest, meanest, cruelest pieces of shit.

And they're so *proud* to be dumb, mean, cruel pieces of shit too. They delight in it. They brag about it.

It's vice signaling as a way of life.

Another reason why it’s important not to obey illegal orders is because the people willing to give illegal orders will happily throw you under the bus for following them.

Put another way, every crime this woman commits makes her more dangerous—not less. Every crime Pete commits makes him more dangerous—not less. So as much as we can say that these are criminals who in a healthy democracy would be incarcerated, in the world we live in they're more dangerous than ever.

That said, Noem and Hegseth are well aware that they're above the law—and that Trump would pardon them for any crimes. So the fact that they've committed crimes and deem themselves above the law *because of Trump* only ties them *closer* to Trump and makes them *more* willing to do whatever he says.

Jail.

Do not pass go.

This is a confession.

We now have two members of the Trump Cabinet who on the basis of their own public statements need to be incarcerated for some period of time.
KARL: Did you know about the judge's order when you issued your order for the planes to continue?

KRISTI NOEM: This is an activist judge. We comply with all federal orders that are lawful and binding.

What sort of parallel universe are we living in in which extremely powerful people are worried about a wholly transparent ploy? If the Trump administration tries to scapegoat an innocent man, how about we just fucking ignore what they say and go after the real perpetrator? What's this vacillation?
Breaking news: Government officials said they are increasingly concerned that the Trump administration intends to scapegoat the military officer who directed U.S. forces to kill survivors of a targeted strike on suspected drug smugglers in Latin America.
Hegseth, with White House help, tries to distance himself from boat strike fallout
As Congress vows accountability, the Trump administration emphasized it was a top military commander — not the defense secretary — who directed the engagement.

I have been saying and will keep saying that Trump and his people are vulnerable to an opponent who embodies a certain style of masculinity. When Kelly called them in unserious, he basically called into question their manhood.
Kelly: He runs around on stage talking about lethality and the warrior ethos.. That’s not the message that should be coming from the Secretary of Defense… He runs around on a stage like he’s a 12 year old playing army. It’s embarrassing.

But this won’t hold water.

If Trump and Hegseth claim Bradley is at fault and exceeded his orders, why was Hegseth crowing about the strikes publicly and why hasn’t he removed Bradley?

The strike happened in September and witnesses claim the video made the double tap horrifyingly clear.

Remember in May when Trump gave asylum to 17 family members of the Sinaloa cartel after making a deal with El Chapo’s son? And did you know in 2013, El Chapo bribed Juan Hernandez- who trump just pardoned - in exchange for protection in Honduras? I’m sure it’s all just a coincidence.
