If tech comes up with something that does the old job better - the iPod, say, or the original smart phone - great. If it does it WORSE or not at all, that’s not a disruptive technology in any functional way. Why are we surrendering to it? Old media just keeps shrugging away. Oh well.

It's believed we've lost the true name for bear in Germanic languages - "bear" roughly means "brown one," a euphemism used instead of the true name because it was believed that saying their true name would summon the bear.
