One day four boys fell in a hole
There they fought many monsters
I'm sure I know things about myself; communicating them is the issue
Some people have a social media strategy; I don't even have a strategy for life
When your goalie has more saves than your whole team has shots on goal, you better step it up and/or buy them a drink
Come on, Monsters; lesgo

If you live in the Cities, an easy way to help immigrant families in hiding is: laundry! Laundromats are ICE magnets, so people without washers need help.

The People’s Laundry will drop off laundry to your door to wash and dry and pick up a few days later:

I’m seeing posts from people (outside of MN) about how US citizens should carry their passports.

And let me say that *inside* MN, we are calmly responding to requests with: “No, I don’t have to show you any documentation.”

Because that’s how you protect everyone, regardless of immigration status.

We need to campaign just as hard for increased voter access as we do for candidates we like.

America is entitled to Greenland because we are the dominant predator force in the Western hemisphere. Here's why I'm afraid of cities.

Hulu just asked me which "ad experience" I would prefer, as if making me participate more actively in the commercials would make me a better (bigger) consumer

Disappointing. Unsurprising, but disappointing nonetheless. Both parts of the comparison, honestly.
Gonna stop looking at the Epstein Files in a second because I'm frankly way too skeeved out to keep going but I will say this: the CSAM isn't blacked out nearly enough while the faces of guys in ties are obscured by vanta black rectangles the size of the sun.

PSA: If you’re gifting someone a board game…

- Open it, punch the tokens, make sure all the components are there
- Sleeve the cards and laminate the player aids
- Read through the rules, do a solo play, print out the FAQ and errata
- Give them a Dunkin gift card and keep the game

"All House Democrats who voted supported the measure to restore the bargaining rights."
Good info to include here would be which Dems abstained. I think their constituents would be interested in following up on why their reps don't support unions
In a HUGE win for federal workers, our essential services, and working people across the country, the bipartisan Protect America’s Workforce Act has passed the House!

The fight continues in the Senate. When we fight, we WIN!
House votes to nullify Trump order and restore bargaining rights for federal workers
The House voted to repeal President Donald Trump's executive order from earlier this year that aimed to remove collective bargaining rights for hundreds of thousands of federal employees.

Some good news out of Indiana for a change!
🎉 BREAKING: WE DID IT! 🎉

After days of intense pressure from D.C., the Indiana Senate REJECTED the mid-decade gerrymandered map!

This victory belongs to every Indivisible member, every activist, and every Hoosier who called, emailed, and showed up.

Medicare for all, paid leave, universal childcare.

Busting up big corporations and tackling Wall Street’s greed.

Getting big money out of politics.

Supporting unions and fighting for higher wages.

If Dems want to win back working people, this is the agenda they must support.

Rhetorical question time!
Why did Billy Graham's version of Christianity take off while Madeline L'Engle's got sidelined?
Again, not looking for an actual answer; more just commiserating into the Internet hole

Among the contenders for Stupidest Line I've Ever Heard is that a government should be run like a business. Expecting government programs to show a direct profit is unreasonable. Their success should be measured by their effects on health and welfare, not by revenue.
The USPS posting a NINE BILLION DOLLAR LOSS!!! sounds terrible. Certainly worse than if you said "USPS costs thirty dollars per person per year" even though that means the same thing and more accurately describes a government service

Forty years ago, 90% of media outlets were spread across 50 companies.

Now, just 5 companies control 90% of the media market.

This consolidation hurts consumers and helps oligarchs. 🧵

At this point, if we do develop actual artificial intelligence, or even just a more useful and practical machine learning, it'll be a flop. Not because it isn't useful, but because corporations pushing genAI for so long have destroyed any good will people might have one had for it

Mike + the Mechanics say every generation blames the one before. I'm not sure that's true. At least for me, I put more blame on Boomers than Gen X, who have been largely denied political activity at the highest levels because of the gerontocratic nature of US political parties

It's also a pretty good tool for judging whose opinions and statements are worth anything

The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.
