Renewables are a no brainer in Australia
Let's be clear:
🔴 Coal power is more expensive than renewables
🔴 Coal powerplants keep breaking down, further pushing up energy bills
🟢 Renewables are the cheapest form of energy

Even Reform voters don’t trust the Donald
“Move closer to Europe – not Trump”

Huge UK poll shows Brits overwhelmingly want Starmer to prioritise trade with EU not US. Even in Farage’s constituency!

Make no mistake things are only heading in one direction
2024 has recorded the highest temperature in any year since 1850 🌡🌍

This is the 11th year in succession that has equalled or exceeded 1.0°C above the pre-industrial average period

A number of centres released their estimates today:

2024: record-breaking watershed year for global climate
2024 was the warmest year on record globally and the first year that was likely more than 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels: a stark reminder global temperatures are continuing to rise.

And here's an important thing to remember in the coming weeks and months:

Every cent of taxpayer money spent by county, state, and federal governments on #LAFires is a fossil fuel industry subsidy.

Every disaster and recovery dollar is paying an externalised cost of toxic fossil fuel production.

Five months ago, I recorded a 10-minute explanation, as a former regulator, of why the UK would be not only perfectly within its rights to ban twitter, but probably ought to.

Maybe now people will listen.

Fossil fuels are a legacy, fuel, they’re in decline. Little surprise vested interests put so much energy into discrediting renewables
This is amazing: it’s incredibly windy in the UK right now, so only about 10% of the National Grid is currently being powered by fossil fuels.

Not surprising that @dsmitheconomics highlights UK’s persistent growth problem as we are are still beleaguered with Brexit leprosy thanks to Starmer’s red lines.

This budget delivered a sugar rush to the public sector (which must comprise the 12% in polling who say govt are successful).

Need to zoom out sometimes to see just how much progress is being made with EV technology.

Serious point: whatever Labour does re EU reset, it will get this puerile reception on the Right.

So. If you’re gonna cop the flack anyways, why not get something meaningful for your troubles??
