Such a good article in Maisonneuve on how Canada Post is being dismantled, management is rolling out tech to try to emulate Amazon, and what Canadians collectively lose if they’re successful in gutting this public institution.

WATCH: “They’re deliberately misinforming, and I get tired of being asked to rebut the lies as if it’s a good faith argument, or a debate between opinion vs opinion, when it’s really a debate between evidence and deliberate misinformation.”

Talk about The Wire, Sopranos, Game of Thrones all you want, but the greatest US television program ever made is Sesame Street. It's not even close. 50+ years of treating kids across class, ethnicity, religion not as mini-consumers...but as citizens with a stake in this world.

With all sincerity, Elections Canada is a national treasure.

- Voting typically takes less than 15 minutes
- We make it easy for citizens to vote, without cumbersome registration hurdles
- We have every reason to trust that ballots will be counted fairly, and results reported swiftly

A tricky thing about modern society is that no one has any idea when they don’t die.

Like, the number of lives saved by controlling air pollution in America is probably over 200,000 per year, but the number of people who think their life was saved by controlling air pollution is zero.

This should not happen.

If we can host the Olympics and FIFA, we can provide the basic needs for our children.

As a teacher that spent the majority of my career working in Inner City classrooms, this decision breaks my heart.

corporate democrats are showing the world how much they hate young people and those who want better for everyone. They hate that we can see through their corporate greed and theater in place of politics and would rather let millions burn rather then do the right thing. They are as dangerous as maga.

Figure skating world championships were considered to be for men only until 1902, when Madge Syers showed up and took home silver and the ISU went "whooooops guess we need to segregate them."

It happened again in 1992 Olympic skeet shooting: Zhang Shan took gold and then they segregated the event.

Since we can’t witness everything ourselves, we rely on media and trusted sources to shape our understanding of the world. But this also means that whoever controls the flow of information can manipulate public perception in ways that serve their own interests.

Now C-Span is advertising the topic as Trump’s “proposal”. It’s not.
It’s a threat of annexation. A threat against Canada’s sovereignty.
Sound bites could very well be used maliciously and out of context against Canada. The lives of Canadian citizens could be endangered by the fallout.

a lot of people want to not be held responsible for slavery and indigenous genocide but want to hold onto the generational wealth and preferential structures resulting from them.

I mean, I know it's obvious but I think it should probably get said out loud a lot more often

We build vehicles that weigh 9000 pounds with 1000HP, can go 0-60mph in 3 seconds and market them recklessly.

We then ask people to wear construction vests to cross the street. This is all so beyond absurd and it's truly incredible that we've normalized this.
