This image shows two supernova remnants: SNR G179.0+02.6 (upper left) and the Spaghetti Nebula (lower right). Both are thousands of light-years away, about 40,000–50,000 years old, and similar in size.

The ability to say "I don't know" is a strength, not a weakness. I would rather hear that during a research presentation than a long-winded non-answer or incorrect information.

I truly can’t believe with everything else going on right now there’s actually “Pasteurization: is it necessary?” discourse. It’s necessary. Don’t take risks with your health that got eliminated over 100 years ago.

The Pleiades also known as the Seven Sisters, is an open star cluster in the constellation Taurus. It is also what's on the Subaru logo. At a distance of about 444 light-years. Shot from my backyard last year.

a thing cis folks should know: trans folks are by & large really patient & forgiving for the same reason most marginalized folks are: we have to be to survive

there’s not a ton of us—each of us is somebody’s first—& we’re great at discerning “oops, i missed” from “i don’t think you’re fully human.”
too many cis people have internalized the past decade of transphobia about how if they make a single minor mistake towards a trans person we'll go supernova meanwhile most trans people i know are hesitant to correct anyone on anything because they don't want to make a thing out of it.

How I feel after drawing the correct structure of a given proton NMR spectra. It makes me feel confident about my spectroscopy midterm!

On #RemembranceSunday, many countries use poppies as a symbol of remembrance.
