Seriously disabled people already have a hard enough time getting married with asset limits. We don’t need this guy standing in the way.
Here's Trump judicial nominee Justin Olson today, admitting than in 2015, he gave a sermon in which he said that “marriage was not intended for all people,” including “our handicapped friends or our persons with physical disabilities that might prevent the robust marriage that we’re called to.”

States will lose tens of billions of dollars in Medicaid funding because of Trump’s Big Ugly Bill. People will lose access to health care and lives will be lost. What do Republicans have to say? “Well, we are all going to die” or “They’ll get over it.”

republicans may wrongly argue that Medicaid is too costly, but the truth is, it's a vital investment in our society's health and wellbeing. Cutting it would be a catastrophic mistake, one that would harm far more people than it would help. #MedicaidSavesOurLives

Mitch McConnell is 100% wrong.

People won't simply "get over it" when Medicaid is destroyed by the Big Beautiful Bill.

In fact, 51,000 Americans will needlessly die every year because of this senseless betrayal.

Medicaid is a program that allows me to pay for my aid and to stay in my home, and now Republicans are saying it’s moral to cut it! Unbelievable!
Watching Mike Johnson champion a bill that will cut $715 billion from Medicaid, $300 billion from SNAP and perhaps $500 billion from Medicare

Lie about it-claiming the programs WOULDN'T be cut

And argue the legislation is "moral"

Is maybe the most perverse thing I've ever seen a politician do

We were at the Capitol at 1:30AM with Whip Katherine Clark — she explained what's happening with the House Rules Committee meeting in the dead of night to gut #Medicaid

Call your Member of Congress and tell them not to cut a dime from Medicaid. The Capitol switchboard is (202) 224-3121.

About half of all childbirths in America are covered by Medicaid.

Over half of all nursing home residents are covered by Medicaid.

Over 79 million people are covered by Medicaid.

And the House GOP’s plans to gut Medicaid would hurt nearly every community in America.

I knew this would happen, but it's still surreal to hear another nation's leader talk to us in a televised address the way US presidents have historically spoken to the citizens of countries led by dictators and despots.
Trudeau: "I want to speak first directly to the American people. We don't want this. We want to work with you as a friend and ally. We don't want to see you hurt either. But your government has chosen to do this to you. As of this morning, markets are down and inflation is set to rise dramatically."

It's time to double down on the advocacy & education. Over the coming weeks & months, the House & Senate have to come to an agreement on one resolution, draft legislation, & then try to pass that legislation. Together, we can stop these cuts & protect Medicaid.
Last night, the House approved a budget resolution that mandates trillions of dollars in cuts to Medicaid.

But the fight is not over.

The proposed Medicaid cuts are over 10 years, so about $90B per year, approximately 16% of the Medicaid budget (Medicaid/CHIPS was about $580B last year). The ACA Medicaid expansion is about 20% of the annual Medicaid budget. You can see where this is headed.

Republicans want to slash Medicaid — a death sentence for thousands of Americans. Medicaid provides health care to more than 37 million kids, funding for 2/3 of seniors in nursing homes & is 40% of the revenue for community health centers.

We must EXPAND Medicaid, not cut it.

And this is when we all come to understand how weak the ADA is. It largely relies on voluntary compliance. The only remedy for violations is litigation. Ask me how I know this….
Did any single journalist bring up the ADA?
Or that what Trump said was textbook discrimination?
A reporter directly asked Trump press secretary if disabled people still have a place in federal jobs and whether they still have protections.

Her answer? “We will be taking a common sense approach”

Please stand with disabled people. Fight for us to maintain jobs, accessibility & the ADA
