Importantly, this wouldn't have passed without Dem support. There was enough of a split within Republican ranks that if Dems had voted against the bill it would've been doa. Giving Trump a blank check to warmonger *and* passing an anti-trans measure was a choice.

My personal rule on this is that I'll recognize Türkiye as the name when Turkey recognizes the Armenian genocide
The thing about ”Türkiye” and similar things is that the Turkish government didn’t name the country and unless they’re gonna rename it I don’t care what they think the English word should be.
