Good thing the Washington Post has already completely torched its credibility. It's a right wing rag running cover for this administration.

No one is otherwise taking this seriously.

the fool notion that our society is a corporation and everything it does must generate profit for a group of shareholders needs to be demolished forever; we own it and the services are the profit it generates for us, if we demolish the services somebody's getting the $$ and it ain't us

Hating on “Big Pharma”? Cool, it’s a $1.6 trillion regulated industry. But hang on…the $6.3 trillion wellness industry sells you mushroom tea, dewormers, crash diets, and alkaline water—no regulations, no oversight. But hey, it’s ‘natural,’ right?

This is not war btwn two states, or just about Modi.

India is occupying Kashmir. There is no evidence that Pakistan was behind Pahalgam, but Indian imperial expansionism and Islamophobia drives this jingoism. Most impacted regions are lands of struggle - partioned Panjab & esp Kashmir. Free Kashmir

At least three people who are obsessed with criticizing me are being published in this book and I just want to point out that I travel and write regularly making the case for science funding and why cosmology is imporrant and these guys have had fuck all to say about science funding
Yall wanna hear something extremely embarrassing? Before Trump’s election, a bunch of academics who lumbered rightward after being criticized by the left (Pinker, Dawkins, Krauss) wrote essays for a book that is coming out in July about the threats to academia from the left.

YALL, THE TITLE!!

Got a lovely comrade card from @ladyofsardines.bsky.social, who uplifts a sentiment @prisonculture.bsky.social often shares—that we should constantly strive to reduce the gap between our values and our actions. This is such an important call to action in these times.

This is gloriously beautiful work. Incredible.
Just got a 20x phase apo and I am STOKED. ‘Fireworks’ pic shows timelapse of chydorus (similar to daphnia) decomposing, cells oozing out and being swept away by the currents of vorticella growing on it. #sciart #microscopy

It’s worth keeping in mind that nowhere in the record has Garcia Abrego ever been accused of a discrete criminal act. The double hearsay allegation made by an informant to a corrupt cop is of gang “membership”, a kind of ontological state of criminality that is assigned by the state to men of color.

“My colleagues & I are relieved and grateful to share that, after eleven days of uncertainty, our students & their mother are returning home,” said the Sackets Harbor Superintendent. “In the midst of this difficult time, the strength, compassion, & resilience of our community have shone through.”
I am inspired by the story of this community coming together and standing up for their immigrant neighbors and students.

It is a relief that this mother and her children are home and a reminder of the power of community to protect our immigrant neighbors and the rule of law.

Every thing you do, no matter how small, to remind people that the wannabe dictators are actually sad, scared, fallible little boys is helpful. The more we laugh at them, the less fearsome they are and the easier it is to wrest power back from them.

Also? These messages are effing hilarious.

Psychs at Kaiser in PDX saved my life during the worst mental health crisis I’ve ever had while in an emotionally abusive relationship. One call to a crisis line, and in one day, I met 3 people who gave a shit, understood how to dx me, got me meds, IOP, and therapist referrals. Treat them right.
Therapists at Kaiser went on a hunger strike in Los Angeles to protest "factory" like working conditions and the automation of healthcare. I went down to the picket line on the last day to talk to the workers, some of whom hadn't eaten for 100 hours.

Kaiser mental health workers have been striking for more time with patients, better pay, and to fight algorithmic triage— healthcare automation that puts patients at risk.
