After a long absence from my Korean language lessons, I’m really pleased to be starting learning again tomorrow morning. Now going back through some old worksheets in the vain hope I can desperately refresh my basic language knowledge so my teacher doesn’t totally give up on me tomorrow😁

My wife has got active projects now going on all of the workbench space currently usable in our workshop😬. I think it’s her way of telling me to tidy up the other side of the workshop…

After months of being a bit under the weather and listless, I’m finally starting to get some radio mojo back. This weekends projects are to finish mounting an upgraded RX888 Mk2 (improved heat management and low frequency performance), and design/print a case for a N4CY bias-t

Wife wanted to go shopping today…dresses, perfumes, jewellery…nope, none of those…blocks of aluminium😂☺️. She was also highly tempted by a broaching press - but I distracted her with the shiny aluminium blocks www.homeandworkshop.co.uk/stock-item/m...

Done my speed walking for the day & got 10K steps in. A chicken & coconut curry (with oodles of ginger in it) on the go ready for dinner. Now settling down to watch an excellent CDrama called Love Like the Galaxy - 52 episodes from 2022 we somehow missed, with oodles of Zhao Lusi mayhem & hijinxs

Definitely a chilly start to the day London this morning at 6°C. A reminder that cooler weather isn’t far away. Thankfully the house temperatures are holding up well at around 20°C without the heating on yet.

Damn - I never thought about how they made large heatsinks…but this is such an awesome technique! Also learnt a new meaning for the word ‘skive’

These are truly awesome and amazing!
Today is National Biscuit Day, and it’s about time that I populated this account with biscuit (cookie) sets from the past few years. Here are some of my favourites. 🧵

First up, a set inspired by the delicious designs of William Morris and John Henry Dearle.

Nice idea! A very handy little 3D printed tool to help winding toroids. Probably need a selection of them for different sized toroids, but that’s easy with a 3D printer.

@hfunderground.com hi Chris.. I’m trying to explore an IQ file saved from ka9q-radio in 16 bit little endian, 12kHz sample rate. I can play the wav file on my MacBook & I hear the audio, but sdrRewind seems to ignore the file totally. Is there any simple generic format that might be worth me trying?

Argh! First 3D print failure…or rather a failure of the operator’s measuring skills. Who knew Wiha have even smaller screwdrivers. A set has been ordered from Amazon to arrive this evening (with Pentalobe heads - something I don’t have in my collection)

My wife has started a retirement project of box making. One week in to learning about the skill, she has made me a clamshell case for one of my books from Donald Knuth’s monograph, The Art of Computer Programming. I’m deliriously happy with the result😊. Next she’s going to try a slipcase.

I’ve been fortunate enough to be able to acquire a new puzzle from Rainer Popp to feed my wife’s metagrobologist habit. It’s a hefty 1.7Kg lump of brass & steel that make for an unfathomable, bewildering puzzle. This one may take many months (years??) to solve. www.popplock.com/en/

This is absolutely the content I’m here for…☺️
There’s this muppet on TikTok who transcribes and then scats incredibly difficult jazz solos so well and I could not possibly love a thing more
