I want to watch TV coverage of the live fall of the Syrian regime.

CNN is airing a Giuliani documentary, Fox News has a comedian joking about Canada, MSNBC a documentary about migrants

So I turned on BBC,which is breathlessly switching between Syria, South Korea demonstrations, and Ghana election

I get Democrats are all pointing to finger at each other, but I actually think this is pretty simple.

If anyone is to blame for Trump’s win, it’s Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema. They divided the base and blocked the core policies that Biden had run on which would’ve made people’s lives better.

Hunter Biden’s pardon is not so much a gift for Trump, whose depravity & criminality obviously need neither encouragement nor precedent, as a massive f*** you to his own Party. Whether they deserve it or not, the biggest casualty here is decency.

Does anyone really believe Trump wouldn’t have abused the pardon power if Biden hadn’t pardoned Hunter?

Trump’s going to be unhinged either way.

If it's like last time, I am about to be trolled by a bunch of people who really don't like Turchin.

Perhaps the most salient point here though, is that it will take more than a few quarters of nice numbers and pretty charts to undo half a century of working class stagnation.

Gonna be a rough ride
The deep historical forces that explain Trump’s win
Our research shows that political breakdown, from the Roman Empire to the Russian revolution, follows a clear pattern: workers’ wages stagnate, while elites multiply

Trump is seizing control of the investigative and prosecutorial powers of the state by staffing them with the most conspiratorial and blindly loyal nominees : Gaetz/Bondi, Patel, Gabbard.

Political retribution is his priority. The rest of governing he doesn’t care about.

Trump is still running all his businesses while selling random junk. He has a publicly traded company, and he can easily be bribed. He once again will be in violation of the Constitution day 1. Corporate media should do their damn jobs and focus on it, instead of sanewashing him and his nominees.
