(This isn't being pedantic at all, it's requesting that the New York Times be accurate—something they were able to accomplish for many decades)
I know this is pedantic, but Kim Davis was not "jailed for refusing to issue same-sex marriage licenses." She was jailed for contempt of court because she refused to follow a court order (she had stopped issuing all marriage licenses). NYT makes it sound like the Woke Police broke down her door.

Really can't be exaggerated how poisonous it is that @mattyglesias.bsky.social has taken up the "climate vs material prosperity" framing. It's empirically false. It's straightforwardly right-wing. It's going to make it harder to pass good policies. It's going to set that whole debate back.

I really like how Zohran Mamdani has run a campaign that is so focused on making New York City a safe (including from the fascism of our current federal government) and affordable place for all its residents, and I am really appalled by how racist so much of the opposition to his candidacy has been.
