Don Lupe shared that one detained man who volunteered to be deported due to unbearable conditions had to wait months.

“This is a business and it is all about money,” Don Lupe said. “There are a lot of things that are inhumane. It is more beneficial for [the business] for him to be in prison.”
After 27 years in the U.S., Don Lupe was detained by ICE at his New Jersey workplace. His family and community fought to bring him home. His story shows the quiet, devastating toll these detentions take on families, and the growing rise of raids at NJ bonded warehouses. @documentedny.bsky.social

at one point, i watched a cook county sheriff’s officer (who appears to be in charge) point out a priest in the crowd.

he and a couple officers then went into the crowd , dragged him into the street, and arrested him.

situation is still tense as crowd jostles with police to get into the street.

One interesting thing about the California redistricting Prop 50 election is lawmakers in Texas, Missouri & North Carolina all redrew their congressional maps this year without having to go to the voters for approval and idk maybe voters in those states would like to change that

Across the country, as rainbow crosswalks are painted over, hate crimes against the LGBTQ+ community have continued to rise. And queer Texans have voiced disappointment that local leaders aren’t stepping up in their defense — at least outside of San Antonio.

Every time my dad recalls the time he and his family were rounded up and taken out to a New Economic Zone, he always noted how young the guys with guns were—just kids, so eager to prove themselves in their little units, they were always the cruelest.
DHS Secretary Kristi Noem just announced she's removing the age limit for ICE applicants, which allows literal teenagers to now apply. What could possibly go wrong?

the funniest thing that happened during the pandemic were all the rich people who flounced out of california for texas, got to texas, discovered it sucked, moved back, and then wrote blog posts about their "learnings"
The rich have been threatening to leave New York because of taxes all my life. Some of them do go to Florida or Texas, but then they discover that Florida and Texas are Florida and Texas.

It is imperative to recognize and call out this regime's bigoted identity politics. Their treatment of nonwhite electeds amounts to Taneyism.

To them, these officials hold no authority they are bound to respect. Padilla, McIver, Baraka are merely the latest. They are doing this to POC on purpose.
