I'm not me. But I checked, and I definitely exist.

Here to talk about cats, leftist activism, art, nature, and cats. (She/her)

It's truly a wild time that the same mutually assured destruction that stopped Clinton and other Dems from using this against him is now what's stopping him from releasing the list. Christine Pelosi is sincerely aligned with QMAGA in this moment.

Insightful.
Society should get rid of the knee-jerk notion that subsidies for the poor or free enterprise are evil. BOTH are essential.
Evil is when fascism disguises itself as either to gain control an riches, be it Putin, Mussolini, Hitler, Mao, Castro, Chavez, Bukele or Trump.

We all need a mood boost!
OK. When I was a kid my aunt worked at Seattle animal control and they had rules about how long strays could stay before they had to be put down. So ones with kittens would get their papers pulled and they'd live at my house until they could be adopted.
One time a litter came in with a baby raccoon.

It wasn’t loud anymore. The board had been flipped once, maybe twice. Pawns missing, pieces chipped, rules bent. But even in that ruin, the game endured. A steady hand returned to the board, not to restore what was lost, but to make the next move.

Senator Cory Booker is doing his job. He spells out the math here. In order to get Republicans from purple districts in WI to change their vote WI NEEDS you to do in-person, on-site town halls in purple and red districts.

ANYTHING less is failing to do YOUR JOB.

Three House Republicans. Four Senate Republicans. That's it. That's the math.

Absolutely worth reading!

From the article,
"But there’s a caveat. This prediction depends on you. To preserve our democracy, each American must participate in it—yes, by voting, but also by taking a much more active civic role, too."
Michigander Mallory McMorrow has announced she's running for the U.S. Senate. This is a column she wrote for TNR back in 2022: @mallorymcmorrow.bsky.social

"How to preserve democracy is no longer an interesting thought experiment; rather, it’s an existential question."
The Work of Democracy Is Not Only a Group Endeavor
It’s also an individual one.

I found an awesome political song. Yes, I just typed that.

Seth Staton Watkins is a singer/songwriter. Some of his songs are about current events - with the energy of Irish folk music!

I say this as someone who considers himself a center-left liberal.

There is a Paul von Hindenburg uniparty in Washington that justifies itself under the veneer of pragmatic moderation.

These are not true centrists. They're traitors.

In other news, Generalissimo Francisco Franco is still dead.

Trying to improve my shopping habits when I can't up the spending.

I looked up some parent companies, then I searched OpenSecrets. A few of these are disappointing. But Rosauers, a regional store I've always loved, is completely clean!
