#Progressive
It’s not left v. center or progressive v. liberal or anything like that. It’s fight v. don’t fight.

I am once again asking progressive Democrats to stop allowing this absolute snake who nonetheless possesses some political talent to pretend to be one of their foremost progressive leaders.
Senator Schumer is no longer effective and should be replaced. If you can’t lead the fight to stop healthcare premiums from skyrocketing for Americans, what will you fight for?

Mamdani: if you advance progressive causes and believe in what you’re doing you can win!
Democrats: yeah hard pass

They did and that’s EXACTLY why he caved harder.

The millisecond it looks like progressive leftists have a shot with the party, the Establishment centrist moderates say “not on my watch” and tank the Party because “vote blue no matter who” only applies if you aren’t a progressive leftist.

this kind of rhetoric does more to suppress the vote than any liberal/progressive poster could. and this is a us senator.

And the moral of the story is…

Elect more progressive democrats.

in order to achieve the most important goal of the progressive electorate (defeat trump), we must elect politicians who do not care about progressive priorities, such as defeating trump

Further evidence that this isn't about being a progressive or a moderate. Its about being a fighter or a coward.
Mark Kelly notably declines to endorse Chuck Schumer as the leader of Senate Dems going forward
November 10, 2025 at 6:23 PM
I think tonight shows why “moderate to win elections” is a real risk

the big divide in the Dem caucus, as many have noted, has been less moderate vs progressive than fight versus don’t fight

but it’s not a coincidence that basically everyone in the “don’t fight” camp is a moderate

Progressive Gen Z women recognize the existence of male loneliness, but aren't so sure that the solutions aren't also progressive.

@racheljanfaza.bsky.social discuss that and more with @sarahlongwell25.bsky.social on The Focus Group:

The worst thing about Tuesday is that now every vaguely progressive coded local candidate is going to be called (Insert City)'s Mamdani and I'm already over it in advance
November 11, 2025 at 6:36 AM
Democrats were willing to stand firm on anti-progressive principles to the point that they let Trump win the 2024 election instead of adopting progressive policies that would have let them win.

But democrats will not stand on opposing republicans enough to fight for healthcare. Funny how that works
November 11, 2025 at 2:04 AM
“I know you can’t afford things but we also cannot afford things” will be, I predict, a losing message. The world’s first trillionaire is on the horizon. “We can’t afford transportation, healthcare, food and shelter” will no longer cut it for the “progressive” party.
Hochul a 'no' on Mamdani's free bus plan; 'yes' on statewide universal childcare
The price tag to expand a universal childcare program statewide is $15B.

a lot of "moderates" are just people in cities or progressive circles who don't like being part of a low status right, imo

there are real moderates, but they tend to be much weirder than this
Self-described “moderates” and mainlining right-wing bullshit and lies. Name a more iconic duo.

The Progressive challenger just defeated the Republican incumbent to swing the Spokane City Council to a 6-1 Supermajority!
November 11, 2025 at 12:18 AM
The conservative part of the Dems hate anyone more progressive than they are, and they're not very progressive.
November 8, 2025 at 1:02 AM
Go volunteer for a progressive launching a “hopeless” campaign against an extremely entrenched incumbent currently squatting in a safe Blue seat. The worst thing that happens, is that you drag the incumbent to the Left. Best case? Zohran Mamdani, who was polling at 6% in January.

If Seattle wanted to BE progressive instead of just LOOK progressive, this race would’ve been decided on day one
November 11, 2025 at 12:23 AM
The thing @schumer.senate.gov appears to be doing where he gets everybody who’s retiring or was just sworn in to a six-year term to vote yes so he and a bunch more moderates can vote “no” to appear more progressive than they are is so insulting lol
November 10, 2025 at 1:11 PM
They blame the stroke rather than consider why they're now backing a progressive with a history of racism and a Nazi tattoo
November 10, 2025 at 12:46 PM
Dick Durbin's term ends in 2026. Let's find a progressive to replace him.
