Platner is really the perfect combination of conservative confidence and liberal naivety. Watching his Reason interview, it's obvious he has the white man's natural "of course I can do this" attitude even before looking into what he's doing, and then becoming very regretful.

We've known for YEARS that there are disparities in the effectiveness of facial recognition tech used on white vs nonwhite skin. DHS using it to determine someones citizenship status is done with the expectation of glitches and the knowledge that those glitches will allow the deportation of citizens

If we put boots on the ground in Venezuela please know it's as much about their oil deposits as it is manufacturing consent to build concentration camps at home - prisons are much more expensive, take longer to build, and therefore attract more resistance. Camps can go up quicker and quieter.

Similarly to how fascist culture is incapable of producing anything original, so is white american culture (as it's a tiered race-based fascist culture) which is why the mythos around whiteness in this country takes all of the hardships it put black americans through and ascribes them to itself
