Colbert reminds me of so many Christian people I know, which is a big reason I love him. He is (one version of) what public faith in a secular space should be.
you know who is a very deeply believing christian that never does anything bigoted with it and also never does the no true scotsman thing he just lives out his values in public and speaks from the heart about his beliefs to set a fantastic example?

stephen fuckin colbert that's who

“No right is safe in the new legal regime the Court creates.” –Justice Sonia Sotomayor.

It's not hyperbole to call this case the death of meaningful constitutional rights in the United States. If you do not have an attorney that can litigate against the government, you no longer have rights. This will go down in history as the gutting of the constitutional order.

If the Supreme Court thinks universal injunctions are unconstitutional, to wait until *now* to say that, in this of all cases, with this of all presidents, is a devastating indictment of both its impartiality and its prudence.

It gets cut off at the beginning of this clip, but I didn't need to see it to know that Booker was making a religious reference here.

FYI: Booker talks about religion, like, a lot. In fact, it was a big aspect of his presidential run. religionnews.com/2018/10/24/c...

The CFPB is one of the American people’s best defenses against waste, fraud, and abuse.

Demolishing it will, of course, lead to more waste, fraud, and abuse.

It’s been a great way to stop doomscrolling and reflect 😌

Composure, Saints! This is a vital witness to our faith in Christ in any era of chaos.

Upon waking, let us meet with Jesus and trade our fear & anger for his courage & compassion.

Rely on God.
Read Scripture.
Be brave.
Pray valiantly.
Act like grownups.
Help the hurting.
Love defiantly.
