WE'RE JUST GONNA KILL PEOPLE.

The ongoing murder campaign at sea is an utter horror.
Trump: "I don't think we're necessarily going to ask for a declaration of war, I think we're just gonna kill people that are bringing drugs into our country. We're going to kill them. They're going to be, like dead."

The Democratic establishment confuses triangulation with leadership and treats stability as a virtue in and of itself. There’s a chasm between what we say and what we deliver. We continue asking voters to show up while we refuse to show up for them.

I think some people have trouble seeing fascism as anything other than 1940s Germany.

But I think 'people going to a comic convention needing to have a plan in case the government's goons show up to disappear people' is a pretty good demonstration of what it can look like in 2025.

This administration is a pack of lawless thugs, and that's exactly how they're "governing". How are institutions like Columbia so unprepared to defend their purported values? To quote (the fictionalized avatar of) a certain Columbia alum: If you stand for nothing what'll you fall for?
...and here is David Pozen, referenced in the Dorf column, going deeper into an important aspect.

The crux: The federal executive branch is engaged in the systematic extortion of institutions it chooses to target.

Trump, Miller, Noem et al are disappearing innocent people to a concentration camp to be tortured. They know this is what they're doing. Everyone who has touched this policy belongs in prison.
Those held at CECOT were forced to sleep on cold metal benches (mattresses were brought in for photo ops) and given a single water bucket for washing and drinking.

If anyone was seen washing themselves not at 4:00 AM, they were taken into a cell, tied to a chair, and beaten.
