No, Ben! No!

Someone tell him that his own denomination started as an abolitionist movement...
Ben Carson speaking now, unexpectedly railing against the "social gospel."

For the unaware: social gospel movement emerged in the early 20th century, rooted in concern for, among many other things, the poor and opposed to child labor.

A big supporter of the movement: Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.

This article is horrifying and worth a read.
"To put things into perspective: I had a Canadian passport, lawyers, resources, media attention, friends, family & even politicians advocating for me. Yet, I was still detained for nearly 2 weeks. Imagine what this system is like for every other person in there."

I’m the Canadian who was detained by Ice for two weeks. It felt like I had been kidnapped
I was stuck in a freezing cell without explanation despite eventually having lawyers and media attention. Yet, compared with others, I was lucky

There's really no escape from bad political news and sometimes I think that's a good thing but it does get mentally tiring for sure.

Genuine question:

What's going to stop Trump from adding more Supreme Court justices? He could add a lot more and have them all be conservative.

Or he could just ignore the courts which seems highly plausible.

I've been a little compassionate with Dems when people have accused them of not resisting in the right ways. But THIS? What even is this? How is this an appropriate move at all?

Which countries are spreading atheism everywhere? Because as a committed Christian, I might be looking to move to one of those atheistic countries to escape Christianity's marriage to politics here, thanks. I promise to not bring baggage!
Vance: "How did America get to the point where we're sending thousands of taxpayer dollars abroad to NGOs that are dedicated to spreading atheism all over the globe?"

Note: Vance *appears* to be referencing the gutting of USAID, but the #1 recipient of USAID funding is Catholic Relief Services.
Vance is currently arguing religious liberty is an outgrowth of Christianity, and notes the U.S. remains the "largest majority-Christian country."

In listing the admin's current successes on religious liberty include pardoning abortion protesters and the…executive order on social media?
