America calls itself a democracy, but in a real democracy:
👉 The candidate with the most votes wins.
👉 Every vote counts equally.
👉 Voters aren’t purged, gerrymandered, or blocked at the polls.
Until we fix this, turnout will stay low.

Not only is this an open endorsement of authoritarianism from a smirking Scott Jennings on CNN - they pay him to say this stuff - but the 'who elected them' is a bit rich - who elected the Supreme Court that conservatives love? Who elected the judges who shot down Biden policies?
CNN should end the contract of Scott Jennings. Let him go to Newsmax or OAN where he belongs.

This isn't about a difference of opinion or policy, which is perfectly fine and welcomed.

This is support of authoritarianism. Plain and simple. Might as well salute.

THEY DON’T GET IRONY.

They call liberals “snowflakes” while losing their minds over a cartoon M&M. They chant “freedom” while banning drag shows. They scream about government overreach while wanting to control your uterus. It’s almost impressive how little self-awareness they have.

New, by me: Elon Musk's DOGE has taken control of large swathes of Americans' private information held by the U.S. government, representing the widest known compromise of government-held data by a private group of individuals — and little has gotten in their way.

Ballot initiatives have been a crucial tool for defending representative democracy in states where Republicans have gerrymandered & suppressed voters.

Since 2010, the GOP responded to these & proposals like abortion & min wage increases by trying to restrict initiatives nearly everywhere they could
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) wants to make ballot initiatives impossible.

FL already requires 60% support to pass—abortion rights & legal weed failed despite 56-57% support in 2024.

Last decade, voters passed amendments to end gerrymandering & restore voting rights, which DeSantis also undermined
DeSantis' proposals for Florida’s ballot initiative process could effectively end it
The governor’s proposals include eliminating signature gathering as it exists now.

The only reason Trumpism works is because it’s identity-based, not policy-based. It’s not about logic—it’s about belonging to a group that thrives on shared outrage.

Logic won’t fix it.

They believe in a world that doesn’t exist and see no problem in the fact that they can’t prove what they say.
