Opinion | Six surgeons general: RFK Jr. is a threat to the health of Americans
It was our duty in office to warn of dangers when we found them. We’re doing that again today.

CEO pay is up 1,085% since 1978, while typical worker pay is up just 24%.

Why do we always hear "we can't afford to pay our workers more" but never "we can't afford to pay our CEO more"?

You know why hurricanes have gotten less deadly over the past century? Not because they're less dangerous. Because scientists at NOAA have gotten really good at predicting their tacks, enabling people to get out of harm's way.

Gutting NOAA will kill people.

This! The GOP isn't doing a damn thing for most Americans.
For those following along at home this administration has done ZERO things to lower prices for families.

Here’s the score under Republican control:

I honestly believe our most powerful position in a toxic time that feeds on cynicism, apathy,& despair is to genuinely care and act for a better world.

Cynicism is our enemy. We should check it, incl. on the left. It’s not intellectually superior. It’s the virus they’re trying to infect us with. NO

A LOT of people are downplaying the role of climate change in the LA fires. We need to remind ourselves and others that there has only been .29 inches of rain in Los Angeles since 5/1/24. Firefighters would have had more success fighting these fires if the hydrants didn't keep running out of water.
Scientists Say Musk Wrongly Downplays Climate Role in L.A. Fires
"There’s no link between CA's water policies & efforts to protect endangered species & water for firefighters... urban water systems are not built or designed to fight massive, urban wildfires.”

I think most of us can figure out that increasing coverage saves lives. But in case you need it, here's some proof:
🔥🔥A 2021 study found that Medicaid expansion as part of the ACA led to a substantial reduction in mortality, primarily driven by reductions in disease-related deaths. A 2018 study in the Journal of Political Economy found that, Medicaid reduced infant and child mortality since the 1960s and 1970s.🔥🔥

I've been a vegetarian for 24 years, but never made it all the way to a vegan diet. This article describes how reducing meat can help the environment (and probably your health, too.)
Gobbling Meat Is Fueling a Climate Crisis. Here’s How to Cut Back
Meat-centric diets are significantly contributing to global emissions. Yet new data show that some techniques to promote more sustainable eating are working.
