Kyle Kingsbury is not a journalist. He is not an op-ed writer.

He is a computer safety researcher.

And he has written one of the most compelling, comprehensive accounts of the ongoing hell in Chicago that you could possibly imagine.

In under 1600 words.

I wrote up a blog post with my colleagues at Charlemagne Labs about what we've been building - a 270M param local AI for cybersecurity defense.

I have been writing for years about the fact that we are not ready for the destruction of costly signalling mechanisms. Writing used to be a way of measuring effort, ability and diligence. We still have no easy substitute

Now this paper confirms that cover letters have lost their value as predictor

i’ve been thinking about this a lot the last month, finally wrote it up

i think it enables truly general agents to operate with oversight, but also brings sanity to the current state of AI security
MCP Colors

A riff off of the lethal trifecta for addressing prompt injection, this is a simple heuristic to ensure security at runtime

red = untrusted content
blue = potentially critical actions

An agent can't be allowed to do both

Easy Chicken Tacos

1.5 lbs boneless skinless chicken thighs
16 oz jar red or green salsa (Goya, etc)
8 oz water
1 packet chicken taco seasoning (McCormick, etc.)

Chop the chicken into 1/2 “ chunks.

Throw it in the Instant Pot on high for 12-15 min. 10 minute natural release. That’s it.

For me it was definitely Monty Python’s Holy Grail

I must have been about 8 lol 🤴 🐇
If you're above the age of 40 you probably remember the literally first piece of "weird" media you found that made you feel a little less alone in the world. The good shit was rare before the internet. Kids in the Hall on channel 25 at 11 p.m. changed my life.

I was just telling a friend about how I have “roots” in Jackson Heights (Queens) because my grandfather lived there for 2 years in the 1940’s 😂
I’m sorry but American Hukou as divine feminine Self Care is genuinely hilarious, Brooklyn stay winning
Still not sure when she moved there but as you can see, it was in her ancestral DNA to seek it out.

The combat in pokemon legends ZA feels so much like Dragon Age: Inquisition.

A complex battle system that is a little too gritty for real-time, sanded down just enough to feel “smooth” even when you can’t quite control what’s going on.

I know this is bait (4/5 of his "good" games are shooters) but I love talking about videogames, so here's a list of videogames that gave me sublime experiences, that make videogames into something precious and special and worthy of respect. Screenshots when I 'got em

🧵
(honest question) what are the “good” video games? artistically i mean, not in a “i enjoyed this escapist slop” kind of way
Well. It's not Red Dead Redemption 2, but it's like one of three video games I'd genuinely consider good.
