Some great poli-nerd opinion polling technique discussion here.
Yesterday, we put out a report on the most important issues to voters.

We know that immigration now tops the traditional most important issues question (see below from @yougov.co.uk).

But that doesn't tell the full story.

Here is a rundown of the experiments we did to test this out (A THREAD):

A straight up repeal would have Calgary losing pace on necessary housing growth in established areas, not to mention the cost and inefficiency in doing so. Email your councillor.
#Calgary! City council is bringing forward a motion TOMORROW that could see blanket rezoning appealed! Reach out to your councillor TODAY and let them know you value affordability and inclusion and reject suburban sprawl and exclusionist NIMBY policy!

Solar’s price drop is astonishing: panels are now 98% cheaper than when I first analyzed them in 2004.

Today, building a fence with solar can be cheaper than using wood.

By using s33 pre-emptively, the UCP is not simply admitting that their laws are breaching Charter rights. (Governments have done that before.)

By foregoing judicial review, they are further admitting that their laws cannot be justified in a democratic society.

NDP MLA David Shepherd held very little back as the UCP effectively fired the Auditor General in committee today…

Including highlighting that for a government under suspicion of covering up massive scandals, this only makes things look worse.

Alberta's Auditor General is racing to finish his investigation into healthcare procurement after the UCP govt rejected his proposed contract extension.

He's done in April, 2026, and wants his probe wrapped then, too.

Those of you standing in long lines for municipal elections in Alberta today:

1) stay in line; your voice matters
2) the long lines are a direct consequence of the conspiracy-driven policy changes brought forward by the UCP government (and not your beleaguered election workers); be kind

Get ready - UCP is about to pass a law saying who's allowed to run in elections next time. Only the "serious" need apply. Is this partisan? No answer to that. Column.

I suspect someone this obsessed with end times isn’t going to be too focused on making sure his bank doesn’t spark a banking crisis.

Two possible massive vote suppression features in front of the Calgary municipal election.

1. Voting stations not open until 10am (normally 8am)
2. Potential game 7 for the Blue Jays at maybe 6pm (with polls closing at 8pm)

Did anyone realize that Electione Calgary cut out two whole hours of voting on e-day? 2021, polling station hours were 8am-8pm. This year they don’t open until 10am. Another barrier. #getoutandvote
